Peppo's Great Sub Sandwiches — Restaurant in Palos Township

I had to come out of review retirement for this one. Yikes. First time at peppos, decent sub menu, looks promising. Like the other reviews has said this place is not fast, but thats ok, good stuff takes time right? Well, I got my sub, a little bag of chips and a pop: $12.00. wait hold up, a 5" sub is like 6$ so did a pop and chips cost 6 extra? Anyway let's head out open this bad boy up! I'm starving! The ham salami and American cheese 5" sub w/ everything. Open the wrapper, over half the weight of the sub was diced veggies and peppers. 1 slice of ham, 1 slice of salami, 1 slice of cheese and tons, like TONS of diced stuff. How is this tiny sub this expensive?! There is less than a dollar worth of meat cheese and bread here. It's not even warmed up. Just straight up 25 cent Vienna roll. And so yeah, that's the first and last time I'll be here, which is unfortunate. For 12 buck you can eat like a king at actually good places on 111th st. This...

Walked in and greeted by one of the employees who promptly took my order and said the person on the phone taking orders would ring me up when she was off the phone. The employee who took my order then went into the back and started making food.

I ordered the pepperoni with garlic guts and had it toasted. There was a LOT of the guts on the sandwich, which is served open face almost, and had a very good garlic flavor to it. The sandwich meat was a decent amount and the toasted bread was still chewy but had a good toasted crunch to it. Sometimes you get a toasted sandwich from somewhere and they can over do it making the bread hard but not here.

I was also getting one to go for my wife and the employee said they'd wait before making it so when I was finished eating there, the to go sandwich would still be fresh. Very happy with the meal and service. Definitely plan on stopping back in sometime to try something else...

I've had two unfortunate experiences with Peppo's. Both were for catering orders. My poor experience has been with the same lady working there. She was rude and curt. It seemed like it was irritating her to answer basic questions about delivery. I called and asked for same day delivery service and she said they don't do same day delivery. I called back and asked for next day catering delivery and she said they couldn't deliver next day either. Like, why say you can do next day delivery if you can't. Not to mention the fact that the delivery location was less than a 1/4 mile away. Literally the school next door. Just poor customer service, I wouldn't consider ever patronaging this place again. Hopefully they hire some more cheerful people that treat their employment and customers...
