OMG outstanding! I used to be a paramedic in Arlington and we'd stop by often on shift and grab some food to go. Haven't been in that job in 9 years, but when I walked in, Vicki (I think that's her name) remembered me! Woah, that's some pretty stellar service right there.
Soooo onto the food. This guy on a FB Group (Arlington Foodies) has been trying every burger place in Arlington and this one keeps getting rave reviews. Since I'm addicted to his 'March Madness', I've seen him eat two burgers a day for almost a week and I had to have a cheeseburger NOW!
Walked in, seat yourself (they may have beer, not sure about BYOB on anything else) and was immediately greeted by Vicki (as above). Wanted a salad to start - their garden salad has iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes and cheese and their ranch is homemade...SOLD! It was HUGE and only $4.75. Ate every bite and now checking...yup, I have room for a burger...yeah!
Ordered the bacon cheeseburger (medium rare - they normally come medium-well unless you ask otherwise) with mayo, onions and pickles only - with onion rings.
Burger was cooked PERFECTLY medium-rare and the first bite sent juices trailing down my wrist.....not greasy, just pure juicy goodness - the sign of an amazing patty! The pickles and onions were fresh and crunchy and I made it through 1/2 of the burger before I cried uncle. The onion rings were crisp, a little greasy and not made of minced onions, but whole onion rings. Ate about 1/2 the order (maybe 4 o them) and took the rest home.
All in all, for $18 it was a bit pricey but my salad really put it into the 'spendy for lunch' range = if you're not a salad freak, it'll set you back about $10 for the burger, rings and a drink. Much better!
Stop by and tell 'em lauren the...
Read moreWe met the owner at a local jewelry store and he claimed his restaurant had the best hamburgers in town. We went one day for lunch and I got the most bland, dry, very well done hamburger with a bun that looked like it was 2-$1 at Kroger. I asked the waiter to leave a message for the owner about the quality of the burger and his attitude immediately shifted. He became short and slow to serve our needs. I walked to the bar to pay and I asked if I had offended him about calling the burger bland and he said yes. I asked if he cooked it and he stated no, so I asked then why are you offended, you just brought it to me. At this point he raised his voice and told me to get out of the restaurant and called me an asshole. I still had the owners card so I attempted to resolve things with him first. Called him, explained situation, he apologized and said he’d make it right and was going to terminate employee, (Not his son that caused all the problems) then never heard from him again. I’ve had better burgers from a...
Read moreIf you want to support local it’s harder to get more local than this. This place isn’t just a local spot but it’s also delicious.
The burgers were ranked #1 in the world (by owner), and I can say they’re darn good. My go to is the TX Longhorn Grilled Cheese which is always good but I’ve never had anything I don’t like here. I got a side salad because… trying to eat better and it’s what to be expected, not great, not bad, it’s a side salad but I the fries and onion rings are worth it and I wish I could have ordered them.
I’m trying to watch what I eat BUT THE PIES AND BANANA PUDDING ARE PHENOMENAL. Living in a city it’s hard to find country style pies like this but here’s one spot in Arlington which has it as good as the country. To put things in perspective for a place a lot of Texans have been too… it’s way better than any of the similar offerings at a certain gas station with a Beaver mascot.
Overall it’s GREAT, local, good price and when in town I try to stop here. If you somehow find this place ya won’t be...
