I love trying local places but this one is one that I wouldn’t go back to. Pizza was okay, kids enjoyed it. Salad was not that great but it’s a salad. We saw a sign outside saying “full bar” but when we asked for a drink menu they didn’t have one. We picked two random drinks from the top of our heads. Then the bread came out, it was completely burned and hard. My husband ordered chicken parmesan with spaghetti, chicken was rubbery. The baby ate some spaghetti because my husbands appetite went away with the chicken. I ordered the chicken Alfredo, again rubbery chicken and the sauce tasted like soap. Anyways the waitress came for our FULL plates and didn’t ask if we didn’t like it or anything. We were annoyed because she was gone for almost 15 minutes without us seeing her for drink refills for our children. We asked for the check that’s when I really got upset $85 for burnt, rubbery and tasteless food. We payed and left. But it was bothering me so I called them to express how I felt. I didn’t do it in person because I had all my children with me. The manager said she would pass the message to the owner to call me but I still have yet to get a call. Don’t recommend it at all. Like I said I love to support local business but this...

My grandparents and I ate here about a week ago. We all loved it.

They start you out with some bread as an appetizer and it was amazing. Crunchy on the outside, but soft and fluffy in the middle. If I had to change one thing about it, I guess I'd say maybe bring some bigger butter dishes. It's a little hard to dip the bread in the tiny butter containers, but it wasn't a big deal to me. Then, we had a salad with the house Italian dressing. They put tomato sauce with the Italian dressing, which tasted great. For our meal, we all got the same thing, the baked ziti, which also was delicious.

The atmosphere was nice, It's not really your average Italian restaurant kind of feeling. Instead of feeling like a fancy restaurant that you need to wear a suit for, it feels more like a cozy vintage cafe. Very patriotic as well. Lots of army memorabilia. There's also a miniature arcade to the left of the restrooms for the little ones.

As far as service goes, I had no complaints. I forgot to get our servers name but he was very friendly and took care of everything we needed.

I'd definitely recommend this place if your in the mood for some good...

We went to this restaurant because our usual go to pizza place is closed on Mondays. In a word Saljo's is underwhelming. Below average food. Service was okay. For the price they charge for a small two topping pizza they certainly should have been more generous with the toppings. The pizza lacked sauce, had to ask for a side of sauce to dip my pizza in. Too much cheese, far too much cheese. Another person in our party ordered the seafood alfredo. It was bland to the point of being tasteless.

Ordered the cheese sticks and garlic knots as an appetizer. These were plain, run of the mill frozen food section from a grocery store type cheese sticks - bland. The garlic knots, though soaking in a bath of olive oil, were tough and doughy at the same time. Tough - could hardly take a bite without fear of losing a tooth. Doughy - once you were able to take a bite the bread just seemed undercooked.

A bit on the pricey side when taking into consideration the quality of the food being dished out. Our party was in agreement that a second chance is not in cards, would not recommend when better options are...

UPDATE 10 MONTHS LATER...this place is just plain ol yummy. Got the shrimp gorgonzola this time. Very tasty. Cheese pizza very yummy. ORIGINAL REVIEW --> House dressing was bomb. FLAVOR OVERLOAD. The stromboli is WOWNDERFUL!!! Yes wownderful. Its like no other I've tasted before!!! Also flavor overload. Crispy like crust full of flavor. The tomato sauce is simple but pairs perfectly. The tortolini bolognese is just ok to me. I think it needs more flavor and meat not just meat sauce however i will say this...i traveled to Rome and Florence italy in 2016 and this dish taste just like how the food tasted there. Very authentic tasting compared to the food i tried in the home country. So maybe that's the intent and not an Americanized Italian taste. The food in Italy vs American Italian is very different!! I'll have to try the pizza here next time. Waitress told me she was new and although it wasn't all the busy she was a bit slow making her rounds. So i was patient.

If there was a reason too reach the pinnacle of top 10 percent Italian restaurant reviewers in DFW for Google than it was to be to provide the restaurant I regard as the pinnacle of the Italian restaurants Saljo’s is here to cater to all walks of life. When you enter inside you see heritage and morals along with aromas of carefully pruned recipes that are tailored for Pantego and surrounding city’s. This place earned the five stars and earned 6 stars from me.

This place never disappoints. Everything is also so good that I over eat. Started out with bread and garlic knots that were sitting in a butter garlic puddle (YUM!!!), then got the tossed salad with the house Italian (my all-time favorite house Italian), then the spinach salad with a bacon vinaigrette, the the pizza. The medium is huge!!!! And it was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is fun if you like military stuff. Highly recommended!
