We have been to this restaurant when visiting the Poconos in the past and have had very good experiences. To say that the restaurant has declined would be an understatement. We were just recently there and from the waitress being unfamiliar with the menu to the choppy services and subpar food...it all made for an unpleasant experience which has now solidified the fact that this past trip will be our last time visiting this restaurant. It began with the waitress returning to our table twice to verify our drink order while having us point out our selections on the menu for her because she "had never heard of that". However, this was only the beginning. There was nothing complicated about our lunch order, or so it would seem, but yet the Crispy Chicken Tenders came out overcooked and dry, the Straight Up Burger came out well done (when it was ordered medium) and The Tatted Up Turkey Burger came out 10 minutes after the rest of the orders at the table. We asked the Straight Up burger to be redone to the medium that it was ordered. Now at this point we are waiting for the cheeseburger to be redone and the turkey burger to come out at all...while the other 3 people at our table have their orders. When the turkey burger did finally come out...it came out on a stale pretzel bun without the fries. The waitress informed us that the fries would be out shortly. Fast forward 10 more minutes until the fries arrived. So if you are keeping track, a COMPLETED turkey burger with fries order arrives 20 minutes after the rest of the orders. Now we are just waiting on the new cheeseburger. When that arrived, it was cooked exactly the way that it was when we sent it back...well done. When we mentioned it to our waitress, she told us that the manager in the kitchen stated that "they cannot guarantee the temperature on the burgers". To hear that coming from a restaurant with Guy Fieri's name on it is astounding to say the least. If you cannot properly cook a burger in any restaurant in general, you do not belong in a kitchen let alone a restaurant bearing the name of a famous American restaurateur. "Welcome to Flavortown" needs to be removed from this establishment until they hire cooks who can bring this slogan to life. Overall, beyond...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I traveled up from NYC to the Poconos about 2 weeks ago to do some skiing and eat at Guy Fieri’s Mt. Pocono Kitchen. We asked about the drink/food ordering process as we wanted to grab a quick bite and have a drink before we went up to shower, start our evening and eventually make our way back to the restaurant later that night for dinner. We were told that you needed to order food in order to get a cocktail. Which was fine because we wanted to grab something quick and light to relax for a bit because we were out all day in the cold. However, once we were sat we tried to order two cups of soup and two drinks and was told by the server that, that was not substantial enough to order a drink and that we needed to pick something more expensive in order to get a cocktail...?? (This is not the law nor part of the 406 of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code) Confused we asked to speak to a manager and she was very rude and told us that if we didn’t order something more expensive that we couldn’t get a drink and they couldn’t serve us and to leave. My girlfriend then asked why we weren’t told this beforehand when we asked at the host station before sitting and the manager rolled her eyes at my girlfriend and condescendingly said “you just need to pick something else or we cannot serve you okay” So basically we were bullied into spending more money than we wanted to just enjoy ourselves and relax. This I’m sure is not your policy or how you want this restaurant ran and we being huge fans of Guy were completely let down and felt like this was a terrible experience. That being said we went back for dinner because we are huge fans and wanted to try as much of his food as possible given that we literally pick this place because of this restaurant. The manager was giving us dirty looks all night and completely made us feel uncomfortable- oh and let’s not forget that we heard her over say that “well their all the same” about my girlfriend about her being Hispanic. This was more than enough to file a formal complaint. We cannot believe the way we were treated and how utterly disappointed we are. This was one of - if not the worst experience we have ever...
Read moreHello, My name is Danny Deluzio, I figured I’d stop by and do some shoutouts and describe a few experiences.
First I’d like to say that I come to Mount Airy typically every Sunday night 10pm ish. There is normally the same 2 servers (possible bartenders) working. One is a woman with short hair, and the other is a guy. I ALWAYS order the same thing on these nights. Philly with a Mountain Dew to go. They both memorized my order, and are VERY accommodating to my odd ketchup request. Always make my experience seamless and nice. Kudos to those 2!
2nd. On Monday nights the host is typically a younger person. She is the sweetest most gentle host. Her personality is super cute! My server was a woman of Hispanic decent. Also very sweet and attentive. She moves quick, but doesn’t rush you. Very nice, and easy to talk to.
My 2nd Monday night server was a female as well. She had like a monotone to her voice, very clear completion. Also very good server.
3rd. Today was a bit out-of-pocket as restaurants were functioning off of no water. I decided to dine in anyway. Had a very kind young man as my server. Went the extra mile, was very personable, and got me to try something new. He was awesome!
Was also greeted by what seemed to be the bartender as it looked like she was setting up the bar when you first walk in to the right. She was hustling. Checking on tables, and relaying information to servers about what was going on. I don’t think she was a manager but she definitely has the qualities. She was super nice and had the multitasking abilities mastered.
So just a shoutout to this establishment. Food is good! The service and atmosphere was very very good and very welcoming. Great job to the team for keeping their shit together during an unexpected problem. Those who can suffer together can thrive together!
Only to help validate the previous statements I’d like to say that I am a restaurant/bar owner. I’m current the chef, and I know how hard it is to find smart, hardworking people. You guys have done a great job. I thoroughly enjoy my time here. I’ll be back for my Philly on...
