Lucky 8 Noodle + Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Paradise Township

Came to the area for a bachelorette party and went here to have dinner. This was by far the worst service any of us in my group of 5 had received. We called ahead of time to ask if we could make a reservation and were told that they don’t take reservations. When we got there we were asked if we had a reservation and that it’d be an hour wait for a table, and the waitress took one of our phone numbers and said she’d call us when a table was available. There was a group of 5-6 men right behind us, and while we were still standing in front of the entrance the same waitress told them it’d be only a 30 minute wait. We walked around the casino for about 30 minutes and went back to the restaurant to see the group of men seated at a table. We did not receive a phone call, so we approached a different woman at the entrance who said that she wasn’t aware that our phone number was taken down. The original waitress came to the entrance “ordering” one of us to come to her to talk about the situation explaining that the men were seated first since we walked away. She continued to be very argumentative, but there was a table available (right next to the group of men that got seated before us) so we decided to not go anywhere else. The same woman was the waitress for our table, and before we ordered anything we asked if we could do separate checks to which she replied no because it’d go in as a take out order. About 10 minutes later the same waitress gave all separate checks to the group of men, so I approached the manager, Karen and then “all of the sudden” we were able to do separate checks. Once we got our food we realized that one of our girls sushi was made wrong (it was supposed to have avocado but did not) and the waitress said she’d have it remade, came back with a new sushi roll and said “there’s your avocado” with the worst attitude I have ever heard from someone in the service industry. I personally ordered chicken with my food, and the way it was cut up looked like shrimp, so I, as nicely as I could, asked “is this shrimp?” And the waitress bursted out “OH MY GOD!” Not sure if that was directed towards me or the fact that maybe at just the fact that something else might’ve been made wrong. Aside from the constant eye rolls and major attitude the entire time from the waitress the food was great! The manager was very apologetic saying that the bride should not be experiencing this on her bachelorette night. My review is strictly based off service alone as we were waiting over 45 minutes, so could not eat there, nor after what we observed, would we want to eat at Lucky8. After being on the casino floor for a long time we figured we would check to see if we could sit after 45 minutes and we get to the host table and see a empty dirty table and no one else waiting, so we figured we may be next. We waited several minutes while the hostess stood by the bar top folding menus, before she finally came over and said you will be seated once they clean off the table. She then turned and went back to folding menus. I do not know how many menus need to be folded with only 4 table tops and as someone who has experience in the industry, hostess can also clean off the table if the waiter is busy. Which he was and that will be explained later. There were two dirty dishes so i do not know why that would of been difficult to stop doing what she was and just take care of the customer. At least 5 more minutes go by and still no one cleaned the table. A waiter finally came out and he must of been the only one as he went to a table that was just seated to take their order. As he was doing that, the hostess was still doing nothing to accommodate and the three disgusting employees that were the “chefs” were just standing around. I use the word disgusting because of what we saw next. There was a dish prepared and sitting, getting cold by those three unprofessional people and apparently it was for the patron sitting literally two steps away from them at the bar top. Instead of delivering it to him, they sat there doing nothing at all and watched as this poor waiter apparently had to wait on everyone, clean the table eventually and server the dish that was there to the customer on the bar top. They literally waited for him and like pompous creatures mocked him by waving and pointing at the dish like for him to hurry up cause its done. Instead of walking two steps over to the person waiting for the food. After seeing that disgusting behavior my girl and I decided we would not give that spot our business. How dare they do that in front of customers especially. Horrible staff, disgusting display and so unprofessional. I do not recommend no matter how good the food may or may not be. Lucky 8 had excellent service and the food was amazing. My fiancé and I were seated right away on a busy Saturday night. We dined in at approximately 8:30 pm. We ordered the chicken wings, the vegetarian roll, chicken lo mein, beef and broccoli, and general tso chicken. It may sound like a lot, but everything was portioned suitably for appetizers and entrees.The restaurant does not make cocktails, however they have a few options of wine and beer, soft drinks, and one sake option. We ordered a sprite and pinot grigio. In parentheses you will find a rating of each dish. The chicken wings were flavorful and very crispy (9/10). The vegetarian role consist of avocado and cucumber. It was very good and fresh (8.5/10). The chicken lo mein had so much flavor. One of the best lo meins we have ever eaten(10/10). The beef and broccoli was good, very fresh and the beef was tender (8/10). The general tso chicken was delicious (10/10). That was my fiancé’s entree and being the woman that I am I continuously helped myself to eating what was on his plate. Lol. Vanessa was our waitress.
