So we placed a phone order. Pattymelt, light onions, chicken breast sandwich and 1 small order of fries. We get there and. The guy at the counter was straight up rude. He charged us for what I thought was the order n it was only for the sandwiches. We said where are our fries? Um she said only the sandwiches...my husband said no! I heard you on the phone repeat the order..with a small fries. I said, I ordered with you on speaker, so, yes he did hear you acknowledge my order. Soo he charged us an additional $3.30, which my husband paid for. What we ordered was not $20- A pattymelt is a hamburger patty on rye bread with a slice of cheese and some caramelized onions. My party melt had a lot of raw onions in it. I ended up taking all the onion out. Good think I'm not allergic too onions...I don't know if this cashier over charged us just to do that, but a party melt and chicken sandwich are not $20-a party melt is $5.99 at most... ridiculous..,and cashier, please change your attitude...smile and be kind to the patrons, please......

The Steak tasted like rubber, it had no taste as if they didn’t even season it with salt at all and the meat was tough smh I’m convinced these new owners are being cheap and not buying the same quality meats the original owner used to buy. Save your money and go to the Douglas on Cherry in Long Beach it’s worth the drive and still holds the same taste we grew up loving
It’s been 5 years since the Owner changed and I USED to love the steak sandwiches but they don't taste the same the steak meat is cheap and tough very hard to chew ..people who have been coming to Douglas their entire life can tell it’s not what it was & the quality of meat is horrible now ... if people stopped going it’s not because the pandemic it’s because we know the quality is not the same .... should have kept the menu exactly as it was, if you’re going to invest in a historical burger place ...guess Douglas will never be the...
Read moreThis place used to be a good place to get decent food. Now that new owners have taken over, it's been getting worst. I've been coming here for years. With the pervious owners I was able to pay with my Amex card. Now the new owners don't take it. But that's not the big issue here because I have other credit cards.
Today I went ahead and got myself a burger and chili cheese fries. From the first bite I could already tell that they changed the chili flavor to something cheap and disgusting. I had to drive back and ask for my money back because the food was so bad. I normally don't do this, but I was so mad.
I won't be coming back to this location ever again!! I hate how cheap these new owners are. Don't fix something that isn't broken. My advise to everyone is to not come here. Cutting cost isn't always best for a business especially when you alter the food that made this place so good.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION AND GO...
