First and foremost there is no parking so plan on a small walk once you find parking. The Splash park is in a "one-way street" neighborhood and down the street is an elementary school. This place use to be a pool when I was a kid. It was closed for a while now the city built this free splash park for the neighborhood. The play area is small but the kids don't seem to care. There was an employee walking around supervising, so that is a plus. The area was clean with plenty of trash cans so there is no excuse. As far as the seating / tables there are very few tables under the shade, some people will share the table other will not, depends on the person. My advice is take some chairs and a beach umbrella if you show up after they open because even before it's open there is a line of people waiting to get in. You can also take snacks and drinks, no alcohol. When we went there was an ice cream truck parked inside behind the bathroom area so take money in case your little ones or you want ice cream. Also, be sure to have your kids in water shoes or shoes the can wear while they get wet. The ground is cement and can get slippery, I witnessed a little boy running and slipped and landed right on his butt and hit the back of his head hard. We were there for less than 2 hours, like I mentioned it's small and by the hour and a half my granddaughter was pretty much done. Everyone seemed to be cordial and all the kids and some adults were enjoying themselves. I gave it 4 stars because of the lack of seating and shade. The city of Paramount has the funds to make that improvement for their residents. Other than that I...
Read moreThe splash pad itself is nice and I know my kids really enjoyed it. As a parent, not so much.
Those who get there EARLY get the tables. And if you aren't there at opening, good luck. My visit was on a Friday from 12:40-3:30p.m. Only 3 tables became available. 😑
I made the horrible mistake of not bringing my umbrella thinking I might find shade. No, don't do it. Take your pop-up-canopy or your beach umbrella and all the camping chairs you'll need.
Bathrooms only have 2 stalls and the wait time can be long. Remember to pack sunblock, waterproof bandaids, water, and snacks. Pack thin towels since they dry faster and aren't as heavy when you're going home.
Update: 11.12.22
I saw online that they were opened from 12-4p.m. but it was closed when I arrived.
I called the number listed and was told they will now only be open on the weekends (sat/sun)...
Read moreGreat place to take your kids and for them to enjoy themselves getting wet and enjoying different water stations this SPLASH ZONE has to offer. I must say that it's a bit small but enough area for the kiddos to play. There are tables with either shaded areas up on top or an umbrella 🌂 that's on the table. I would recommend just in case there are no tables available, to take some foldable chairs, because there are a bit of shaded areas you can sit while waiting for a table to...
