Our first time (3 years ago) was good, our second time (a few days ago) was not good—I doubt we'll return.
They bring out a set selection of dishes in each course, and unless you have an allergy, they bring every dish even if you tell them you won't be eating some of them. A ton of shellfish + other meats and food were completely wasted on us and ended up being brought to our table and then thrown away at the end of the meal. Just seemed super wasteful, so we definitely preferred the buffet for that reason.
Our expectations for service are really, really reasonable—but the service here did not meet our expectations for a $200 meal.
-Our water glasses were empty pretty much the entire time -A lot of time was spent just sitting there with empty plates/food pushed to the side waiting for our waiter to come by and ask if we were ready for our next course -I asked if the "wagyu" was 100% wagyu or a wagyu/angus cross—this is a super, super basic question for a restaurant serving wagyu, and they pretty much brushed it off and said it was "probably 100%"— it didn't taste like it. -The few times that we asked for seconds of a certain dish, it either didn't come out or the wrong one came out; mistakes happen though, not a big deal—it was just a compilation of things that made the service/experience not a $200 one.
Food was hit and miss. Some good, some great, some really disappointing, and a lot of it...
Read moreI went here on Valentine's Day as an anti-Valentine's Day move (buffets aren't the most romantic places). First off, the service is wonderful. Everyone was so nice with the exception of one guy who was obviously judging me for getting so much food. The motto here seemed to be quality over quantity. They don't have a ton to choose from but what they do have is great. The sushi could be skipped, but do try the tuna tartare. The Dungeness crab was the one thing I went back for over and over again. The sea bass was amazing; The sauce on it was so flavorful. The rest were good, but I didn't go back for seconds. They have so much dessert to choose from, but nothing stood out for me on that end. I would recommend this place but make sure to have...
Read moreMy wife and I have been going to the Seafood Buffet for years. It continues to be one of Utah's best kept secrets! We always see lots of out of town folks and very few locals. We have traveled all over the world and dined at some of the best restaurants around. Yes its a buffet so you have to serve yourself, but the food here is top notch. The seafood is flown in fresh everyday, the prime rib melts in your mouth, the mashed potatoes are creamy and perfect. My other favorites are the cilantro lime ribs, raw oysters, the two kinds of crab, smoked salmon and of course the creme brulee is to die for! I've never thought I didn't get my money's worth, the service and atmosphere are great and the food is spectacular. I'd highly reccomend...
