When we first arrived, the owner or manager was there speaking to another server. We were unsure what we should be doing. We were not sure if we should be waiting to be seated or just find a seat because we were not being greeted. There wasn't any signage either. So we waited while they had their conversation and then the dishwasher emerged. He greets us and ask what we were looking for, it took a few seconds to realize that he thought WE were there for a pickup. We said, no, we'd like to dine in. He asked if we'd like a hibachi or a table. We selected a table. Our server, Sarah was great! She was warm, engaging and inviting. We ordered two sushi rolls and gyoza for appetizers. For our entree I ordered the chicken, steak and shrimp hibachi, my partner ordered the filet mignon and shrimp hibachi. She also ordered a "mangotini". Out appetizers came out rather quickly, but no drink yet. Out entree's came out quickly, still no drink. Then the drink came out. My partner notices an olive in her "mangotini". She also overheard the bartender saying, they don't know how to make this drink BTW. It's from their menu. Anyway, the drink was terrible, it had olive juice in it? The food was bland, chicken was dry, steak was fatty. My partner did not like her drink. She did not drink it. She told the server that she did not care for the drink, so our server, Sarah, says she'd ask about it and she'd be back. Mind you, she went to the owner/manager who has been eating at the bar and it was repulsive how he was eating. She comes back and the owner/manager makes up this story that he isn't allowed to take drinks back, by law. Which couldn't be further from the truth. My partner used to be a bartender. He could've comped the drink. But that's fine. I still tipped my server $20 on a $90 tab. We will not ever be coming back here. The environment feels like a cheap nightclub in a small plaza. They have neon light's in there turning different colors, the counter has toy fish in them with bubbling water jet streams and three TV's in which they are showing WWE Wrestling, The exhibition baseball league with the Savannah Banana's and CNN on the third TV. He definitely lost us making us pay for the terrible drink. Sarah confirmed our suspicions. She mentioned that the bartender is new and is still learning. Then Sarah came back with our checks telling us, she looked it up and we could not leave the premises with the drink by law. Which is completely random because we never asked to take the drink home, we said she didn't care for the drink. So not sure what she was looking up, but, it wasn't at all what we were saying. He could've comped the drink and maybe we could've gave another try but that broke the straw on the camels back. Who puts olive and olive juice in a...
Read moreFood was bad, 3 out of 7 of us got immediately sick, one of us hardly made it home in time. That’s on top of having to ask for our drinks 3 times and then having to beg, quite literally for my daughter’s Thai tea. Look about 30min for drinks (all water, one Diet Pepsi and one hot Saki- like nothing fancy) and then about an hour for the tea to come out. We got our soup served before our drinks. Only one server and only one chef, we tried understanding but after seeing tables that were sat after us get thier drinks and food before us, it really set in stone that it’s more of a poor management then just one bad day. The manager or owner or whoever he was, was so rude and should have been helping customers instead of being disrespectful to the only one server. The chef burned our rice and didn’t cook the fish all the way and also didn’t know how to portion the food because the person on the end hardly got any noodles or rice because there wasn’t any left by the time the cook got to her. They also automatically added an 18 percent tip on each of our bills…. I understand that policy for some places but this is hibachi- we all paid separately - it shouldn’t matter if we knew eachother or not, we should get to choose the tip - especially in a situation as terrible as the one we...
Read moreI'm going to be as honest as I can here. The service was poor. We were seated, then moved. Then waited while half the other half of the Hibaci was served. It was mildly ridiculous.
The fried rice was too salty, and lacked the parts that make fried rice so enjoyable. It had next to no vegetables. So it had no texture ir much flavor other than salt.
The veggies they did serve we so obviously frozen from a bag. The mushrooms were canned and pitiful. I think only the zucchini and red onion were fresh.
The drinks took a long time to make and were unremarkable. The literal squirrel gun of sake was better than the "rum bucket" which was not in fact, NOT a bucket.
This place is dirty. The floors are gross painted cement. The hibachi is turned up too high creating a lot of smoke, and the smell of burning food. I guess they want it to be fast. There is random seams seeping with spray foam and haphazard spray painting.
The only positives to report is the staff is friendly. The steak I had was cooked to perfection. You could cut it with a fork.
