I heard this was good home cooking so I gave it a chance but left disappointed. I visited the restaurant about 3pm and decided to dine in first. The service was fine but it was shift change so it was a bit of a mess. Maybe I had my hopes just set too high? I ordered the catfish and shrimp with mashed potatoes, green beans and black eyed peas. The catfish was tasteless however the shrimp was really good; the mashed potatoes needed way more seasoning, the green beans tasted like they were cooked days ago but the black eyed peas were ok. I assumed they don't season the food here but even after I put salt and pepper all over it was still bland tasting. When I placed my dine in order, I also placed a to go order for dinner prior to tasting the food first. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with fries to go. I held my review until I had the dinner which I warmed up hours later. After warming up the chicken fried chicken and fries that meal was better than my dine in experience. I really wanted to rate this place high as I heard good things but this location came up short! I am 100% sure I won't give this specific location another chance. So if you visit here to eat please don't get your hopes up or maybe order the fried foods you probably can't go wrong with the fried food here! I will stick to Sudie’s Catfish House for my catfish meals; I guess that is what I get for wanting to try something different. I wish I would have went to another location. :(

I had ordered a hangover burger from the menu which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, and a egg with bacon on it. It took them over 45 minutes for them to get my food to me after forgetting about it twice and then when receiving my food to go since the store was closing after waiting for so long they still didn't make my food correctly at all instead they just gave me a burger with two pickles and three strips of bacon on it nothing else. The meat is undercooked the bread is soggy in the bacon also undercooked. Worst food ever made and served. Honestly I am appalled that these individuals have the audacity to give out food like this and not care about their service. I was hoping that they would have improved over the years but still getting worse somehow. Honestly I would blame management since it starts with them not making sure their employees care about doing the job correctly.

I had not been here in years. Decided to come have lunch with a friend. Apparently they don't have a hosted at the moment so guest are asked to find a seat which was a bit awkward to me walking around trying to find a seat. The place was packed at this time which was 11am. I found a table and had a waiter cube by not too long after. I ordered the chicken and waffles but then our server came back and informed me the waffle maker was broken so I had to choose something else which was disappointing because I was very much looking forward to the chicken and waffles. I went ahead and ordered the chicken Fried breast with mashed potatoes with country gravy, mac and cheese, and cole slaw. We received some cornbread and rolls while we waited which were yummy. The food didn't take long to come out. Everything tasted good. Overall, the experience went well. I will visit again and try other items.

Please have your staff take a cultural diversity training.  My daughter and I went on Wednesday evening and it was just a disaster.  I have been raised on Kelley's and have been to locations all over Houston since I was a little girl.  I remember when the original Kelley's used to be paired with the pharmacy, so to say that im not familiar with the establishment would be an understatement. It was just quite ironic that my daughter asked me if I liked going to the Pasadena location,  which is where we live closest to. I told her it was ok but I have never been a fan of their waitstaff. Now anybody that knows Kelley's, knows that the portions are crazy huge and there's no way one person should even eat that much. So we decided to share the Monterrey Chicken just like we have so many times before. When we arrived we were greeted and told to sit anywhere we like, so we did. The busser gave us our menus and got our drink order with no problem, and after that, the rest is another story. There were other people seated in the area who were being tended to, I didnt think much of it. We waited for about 15 when finally the same busser came up to us and asked us if we needed anything. I asked if we could order because long before we got there, we had already known our order. Apparently she had to go find our waitress. A waitress who was nearby overheard and stated that she would take our order. We finally got our order in, no apology for the delay. My daughter had asked about the pies because she had seen them walking in. Suprisingly we overheard that the manager gave one of the neighboring tables 3 slices of pie on the house. I thought maybe we can get a slice to go. We finally receieved our food, the cheese was no where near melted, but at this point, why even complain. I felt like we were not wanted there. An elder gentleman came in who appeared to be a regular and a group of 6 ladies came in,and how ironic is it that they were waited on and checked on with no issues. When we finally finished our meal we were not asked if we wanted or needed anything else. The ticket was just left on the table and I was told she would take care of it when I was ready. I was not charged for the sweet teas we were ordered, only the meal.  It came out to 12.98. I had no issues paying for my meal.  I felt a certain way and felt judged,  so I left my server with an over 50% tip and made it $20 even. The fact of the matter is, that my appearance should not matter, what I order, even if it is to share, should not matter.  Customer service is customer service.  It should not matter if im brown, white, yellow, red. Every customer should be treated the same. Was the perception going to be that because im Hispanic,  I'm not going to know how to tip?  Was it the fact that I only ordered one meal,  it wasn't going to be worth while?  I have always tipped well.  Was I not going to take into account that it was not only myself but my daughter as well? So please do yourself a favor and please hire staff who will treat all customers the same and not pick and choose who they're going to be friendly to and actually service and who they're just going to rush off because somebody doesn't feel...

Let me start with, your heavy set blonde waitress is terrible. I've had the misfortune of getting her last week and this evening. Bar none, possibly the worst waitress I’ve ever had. Now onto my second issue. This is the second time in two weeks I was not given rolls and cornbread by the same waitress mentioned above. This is our conversation; Me): when did you stop bringing rolls and cornbread? Her): we don't you have to ask for them. Me): since when? You used to always bring them without asking. Her); Our manager says not to bring them unless someone ask. Do you want cornbread and a roll?.. She is definitely not the brightest. I'm guessing she thought I went to the question/answer game with her as a way to exercise my ability to speak with someone. Now about the other issues. Does she bring me a roll and cornbread? Yes, but it takes quite a while and when she brings it, it looks like it has been in the warming tray all day. In addition the bottom half of the roll is hard. Now, let's discuss the meal. I ordered liver and onions with mashed potatoes (gravy on the side), pinto beans and green beans. She brings my meal and doesn't ask if I need anything else, and as I'm telling her I need more gravy she turns and walks away. Essentially, ignoring me. The meal was terrible. I'm not saying it was deliberate, but the liver and gravy both were too salty to eat. Very few of the onions were actually grilled and instead looked like they were flipped once or twice on the griddle and flopped on top of the liver. The pinto beans were too salty to eat and the green beans had very little flavor. The mashed potatoes might have been good, but as stated above, because the gravy was too salty I couldn’t even eat them. Lastly the portions we small. Is Kelly's hurting so bad that financially they cannot give rolls and cornbread without a customer begging for them? is Kelly's hurting so much they cannot provide servings of the sides? To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I will have to consider my options before I risk throwing $20 at a meal I cannot consume. Which is a shame, as I used to truly enjoy dining at Kelly’s.

I tried to post this on your website, but apparently there is something with you captcha “I’m not a robot” program. So, unfortunately you...

Let me start by saying I've been patronizing Kelly's Pasadena for 20+ years. We had notice a decline in the service over the past several years but today we walked out and have no intention of returning. They have lost our business. The total lack of any type of customer service is the main reasoning. It starts from the time you enter the restaurant. Absolutely no appreciation that you are there. No smile, no good morning, no how can I help you..... its like your host is a zombie and wants to be anywhere but hosting. It does improve with the table helpers as they are usually quick to get coffee and such. Our waitress today took our order and then disappeared. We saw her one time after our order was placed only because we flagged her down to ask about our food. She told us the kitchen was backed up and then disappeared never to be seen again. While I don't know the particulars of their kitchen this morning I do know the place was far from packed. We waited just shy of an hour AFTER placing our order. We would have waited longer had the waitress shown any type of concern or someone at the very minimum communicating with us about our order but all we would see is the table helpers offering to refill our coffee. We finally elected to leave and upon going to the register to pay for the coffee we couldn't get this person to even acknowledge we were standing there. I asked 3 times how much was the coffee. I placed 6 or 7 dollars on the counter and walked out. The register person was just as disinterested as the hostest. Why would any business, especially in these times, allow their employees to not care about their paying customers? Its beyond me but atlas I have a choice of where I eat and spend my money. Kelley's will not be...
