It was my first time there, and I even told the waitress it was my first time, so this plays a part in my evaluation. PROS: staff was cordial, the AC in the bathroom was nice and cool compared to the warm dining room. Coffee was good. Portion size was fair. They had Sugar Free syrup on the table (which was a deciding factor in ordering a waffle), the eggs were cooked as requested. I wasn't feeling good so I wanted something bland and the mashed potatoes and gravy hit the spot! Also, the entire menu is available all day so that is a plus. NEUTRAL: the 3.5% charge for using a credit/debit card is calculated on the price of the meal AND the sales tax combined...see copy of my receipts. CONS: There was a $1.99 up charge for sourdough toast; however, it would have been nice if that was disclosed while ordering. Now the kicker: $9.50 for ONE waffle! We ordered this after eating the main breakfast without the menu in front of us, so when we got the bill, I was beside myself. Plus, the waffle was the same quality you get at hotels that offer a free breakfast...there was nothing special about it...definitely go here if you want overpriced food.

I am from out of town but had driven by here ,so this morning, we stopped. My husband had the special strawberry waffle , with eggs and bacon. The waffle was delicious. From the first bite , I could taste the strawberry. The bacon was amazing , thick, and huge pieces that were cooked just right. I had the 3 egg meat lovers with cheese omelet it was very large and stuffed with meat, I think the cheese was American, which I don't really care for , but it was well melted. I love the fact they let you order half hash browns , a little crispy ( burnt), but did not taste like it. The grits were very good, and they put a spoon in them with butter on it. A soft, fluffy homemade bisquit , completed my meal. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in and were greeted by everyone. The kitchen is open , so you don't feel like they are hiding what they are doing. As a born and raised Texan , I loved the decor. I will be back to try lunch. I don't know why anyone would go to a chain when this gem is in the area.

This is the best breakfast I have ever eaten and the service from all the staff was excellent!! You just don’t see this kind of hospitality anymore and from the minute I walked into the place I felt like I was back home with family! I ordered the chicken fried steak and two eggs with hash browns and a side order of biscuits and gravy. The best biscuits and gravy I have had in awhile and that goes for the eggs too that were cooked to perfection!! I am still in a bit of a shock due to how great the food was and how the staff treated me like they have known me my entire life! I Highly recommend this down home cooking with excellent hospitality and I will be back again!! Thanks again for the great food and service!

Place was very unprofessional. They treated my friend and I horribly and it wasn’t even any fault of our own. The service was poor, the food was cold and they made several mistakes. Yet we were still never rude. My friend asked to speak to a manager which there was no manager on site at a restaurant mind you. So we paid and tipped still and were leaving. Then the staff member that was so rude Asked us to wait and told us the manager was going to come up and talk to us. He came up there , But he brought three cops and told them that he had some disorderly customers because his staff didn’t like that we told the truth about our experience there. He told the police that his staff told him that we had used foul language which was not true whatsoever and he brought three cops with him so he could look tough and mouth off to us. this owner goes by the name of Neil and you could tell that he wanted to instigate the situation, but luckily the cops were seeing what was going on and we went outside and had a private conversation with them. They were surprised at the unprofessionalism and the fact that there was no manager to be talked to and nobody else seem to have heard us use any foul language or anything else so it was basically Their word against ours. Long story short the police had to waste their time. They shook hands with my friend and I and we parted ways. Neil wasn’t so quick with his words and threats then. He stayed inside and we left Like we had intended to before he blew the whole thing out of proportion and tried to bring the law into it when no law was broken.Neil was the only one that used any language that was inappropriate when he said he never wanted us back which we were first time customers that had already decided we would NEVER come back because of the terrible service and the rude hostess that acted like a manager until we asked to speak to one.She was extremely rude because we were honest about the food The place is very unprofessional and the food is beyond what I...

I've been eating here since they opened, and used to really enjoy the food. I even suggested it to my boss, who now eats there 4-6 times a week, often times brings the entire staff with him for breakfast.

In the last year the food and service have gone downhill. I typically order my breakfast through the Waitr app. The last 4 orders I have received have either been burned, or wrong.

My order seems simple enough - a grilled cheese sandwich with extra cheese, tomato, and bacon. This can also be ordered more simply by ordering a grilled ham and cheese sandwich (which has the option to swap bacon for ham) and is listed on the menu as coming with tomato, lettuce, and mayo. I wrongly assumed that ordering this sandwich and asking for lettuce to be left off, would be the solution to my problem.

When I called to find out today why it was wrong yet again, I was informed that while the menu listed the item as coming with lettuce, tomato, and mayo, the kitchen doesn't put that on the sandwich. (Why is it on the menu then???) Meanwhile they keep taking my money based on what is on the menu, and I'm not getting what I want. The waitstaff do their best to correct issues, but I shouldn't have to specify to the kitchen staff not to burn my bread. Which I was told by a waitress I would have to do if I don't want a burned grilled cheese.

I also went into the restaurant a week or so ago and not only was my boss's order wrong (they comped it), but my waffles had pecan SHELLS in them, and I didn't finish my meal for fear of breaking a tooth. No one offered to correct the issue.

Today I was never was able to get a manager on the phone to deal with my complaints or offer a solution. They seem to allow the waitstaff to handle these issues, without giving them any real authority to correct it.

I...

I've really never been the one to leave negative reviews, if something is bad enough I just learn the lesson to not eat there again, but in this case I feel like I wasted my money, and want to try to save others from wasting it as well... First of all the waiter was nice and friendly, that's fine and great but the food was absolutely tasteless, literally, it tasted like the most bland, unseasoned food ever, I've had cafeteria food at hospitals that had more flavor on them.

My girlfriend was the first to notice, her hash browns resembled slightly brown lumps of mashed potatoes, her pancakes were just fried up batter with no flavor, and the only thing on her plate that had any flavor was the bacon.. because well it's bacon.

My omelette was just a giant lump of tasteless eggs, my biscuits and gravy were flat dough cakes with no flavor, the gravy was white Elmer's glue, the grits were... lumpy sandy water at best. How do you mess up classic southern standards so bad? The iced water was delicious, but not worth the 35 dollar bill. They seem to go for the 'wow' factor of large size and portions, but I'd take portions half the size if they had some taste to them. We left with most of our food uneaten, and went to another place to eat. Management never came to speak to us about the food,...
