Taqueria Los Agaves #4 — Restaurant in Pasadena

Terrible experience, I have been here before and liked it but don’t know what happened to this place that now, I know i’ll never be back. We walk in and seat ourselves, first thing I notice as soon as i sit down is that the table is dirty, there were crumbs and even dried up food on the table. The waitress brings chips and salsa and I immediately tell her if she could please clean the table. She immediately grabs napkins from the napkin dispenser and starts wiping, I tell her shouldn’t you clean it with some type of cleaner and wet cloth? She then says No, if i use chemical it’s going to give you a headache 😳 excuse me what? so then she tells us to move over to the next booth 🤦🏻‍♀️ So we sit on the next booth, we grab the menus and I was shocked to see and feel how dirty the menus were, I wanted to walk out but my husband insisted that he was really hungry! We order our food, i ordered the nachos in which i let her know I want no beans. Sure enough my nachos had beans when she brought them over , I remind her that i wanted no beans! she proceeds to tell me they can not be returned because it would be waste of food, I mean i don’t like wasting food either but i honestly don’t like beans. I insist that i don’t want them, she goes to the back and comes back to tell me that they will replace the nachos but that I will have to pay for them. I look at her and i’m like of course i’m going to pay as long as my order is right 🤦🏻‍♀️. We also ordered ceviche tostadas as an appetizer and omg! they were super salty! tasty but a bit too salty! Overall waitress was rude not at all customer service oriented. 👎🏼

By the way they charge extra for steak on your nachos or gorditas but literally give only a few pieces very stingy...

Very disappointed. Took my best friend here for her birthday. Told the server it was her birthday. She said, “okay” me thinking that meant “okay, I got you” as anyone else would think. NEVER GOT ANYTHING for her birthday, no dessert no happy birthday singing no free drink NOTHING. At the least I thought places did away with singing happy birthday to avoid embarrassment from the Birthday girl/boy but no dessert? Like anywhere else would atleast at minimum! I spent almost 100 dollars for dine-in and then when my daughter also got her food it looked awful! No flavoring on the shrimp and they didn’t even look fully cooked. When I asked if I could please change her order since she has never ordered that item there before I gave the plate back and was still charged 50% of the meal. Which is somewhat understandable. But the Birthday issue was my last straw. IF YOU ARE SENDING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE FOR THEIR BIRTHDAY AND IS EXPECTING SOMETHING FOR THE SERVICE AND THE MULTIPLE PEOPLE YOU ARE BRINGING TO CELEBRATE EITHER BRING YOUR OWN CAKE OR JUST SIMPLY DONT COME HERE AT ALL! First of all let me say that this WAS one of our to go to for fast ,good dinner. "Specialty Sauce" = Burn baby burn. First time ordering Molcajete I was really looking forward to it. I took one bite and their "specialty" sauce was way too much. I explained I could not eat that spicy and that is why I removed the Pico de Gallo. After the server went and spoke with the manager i was informed that they would make me a new one without the sauce however I would be still pay for both. I said no thank you. I told the server to go ahead and take it back. We waited for a while and no one returned to our table. I went to the counter and asked for the check. I also asked if they removed the dish. I was told no per the manager. I said I was not paying for something I didn't even eat. One of the head servers went to speak with the manager and she returned and said to take it off. As we waited the cashier/server wanted to point out that the picture and description was how it was served and I pointed out no where does it say this is very spicy.
