I was around the corner to visit the amazing Art Factory Studios today and, just by chance, stumbled into this amazing place. WOW, the food was soooo unbelievably great! I've been to Mexico City several times and it was every bit as good as being there. I had the Fajitas which were prepared more similar to how, say, Steak Churrasco was presented.... more of a skirt steak with a huge bed of rice, black beans and guacamole all on a single plate with tortillas on the side for you to assemble. My friend had a chicken enchilada that was apparently the best he's had outside of Mexico as well. The staff is all very sweet but have very limited English skills (which might be concerning to some but, in my book, is a great reflection of how authentic they are to their food culture). The outside of the place could be a bit strange as it looks like a diner that has been closed for a few years. However, it was fine on the inside and was just a pleasurable experience all around. Read moreAntojitos Poblanos in Paterson, NJ is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in the area. I've been a regular patron for quite some time now, and it never fails to impress. The authenticity of their dishes is unmatched, and my personal favorite is the chaufa de camarones – a delightful blend of flavors and textures that keeps me coming back for more.
The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with attentive and friendly staff who go above and beyond to make your dining experience enjoyable. The menu offers a wide variety of options, ensuring there's something for everyone, whether you're a fan of tacos, burritos, or traditional Poblano cuisine. The ingredients are always fresh, and you can taste the care and dedication that goes into every dish.

Read moreThe food was horrible! We saw the place was packed and the phones ringing off the hook when we arrived so we were ready for the food to be amazing. My family is Mexican so we're wanted good Mexican food. The horchata tasted like the water from boiled rice. The empanadas were dry and seemed like they'd been refried from an earlier time. The mole didn't have salt or seasoning. It tasted like something you'd buy in a supermarket. They said the tortillas were handmade they were clearly packaged flour tortillas. The sopes were so bad there are barely words to describe them. There was a soggy sope topped with wilted lettuce, grainy beans and only a dusting of cheese on top. The sopes were completely inedible. The only reason they are getting 1 star is that they had bottled coke from Mexico and the torta de semita was decent. The torta was nothing to write home about but it was seasoned and edible. I will NEVER...
