I had passed by here often and was curious to check the place out. A friend of mine knew the band that was playing here one Saturday night. I won't be returning.
My greatest complaint is with the service. I sat at a nearly empty bar waiting ten minutes for a drink. The bartender was a flurry of manic activity at the other end of the bar, even though there were only two other lonely souls sitting there. I had no clue what he could be doing. When he finally came down to serve me and my buddies, he totally screwed up the change. He had taken my $20 bill for a vodka and tonic, and my friend's $10 for his beer. This proved to completely overwhelm his arithmetic skills. He confessed that he should not take "too many" orders at the same time...Too many, in this case, meaning more than one...
As people filed in to watch the band, the wait for service increased proportionately. I was later served by a woman who charged me $14 for the same vodka and tonic drink I had purchased for $11 an hour earlier. Expensive, dubious pricing, slow waits...all bad.
I was able to see directly into the kitchen and saw a grill that looked like it had not been cleaned since the Clinton administration. So I did not get any food. Besides, given their service, I might still be there waiting for it.
The band was good, though not my favorite kind of music. It was a lot of hair rock from the 80s. It attracted an aging biker crowd where all the guys looked like Sam Elliott. And then, three of the biggest guys there, weekend warriors bloating out of their leather jackets with thinning grey ponytails, stood right in front of the stage, effectively concealing the band from view for their second set. Very classy guys. If the place is going to host a live band, it should use a stage, even if it's a mere foot off the ground.
Altogether, not a...
Read moreMy first time here on a random Sunday. Not bad at all. Great ambiance. Dimly lit, very spacious. Big screen TV showing the Daily News Golden Glove tournament. I'm a huge boxing fan so that was a plus. I love fish and they have a nice aquarium there as well. Cool points for that for sure. They have 2 bars which is really cool one is kind of out doors. Real nice for summer nights out. Overall pretty cool spot. I didnt check the bathroom. I rarely use the bathroom when I go out to eat though. They have a great beer menu. If u drink u should be straight there. I tried the Ribeye special for my first time there. Medium well with a baked potato. Butter and sour cream on the potato. Meal had a very home cooked feel. Literally like u were visiting a friend and their uncle whipped u up a lil steak meal. I had it with a Sprite and a refill. Food was good. I was comfortable for my first time there. 2 nice waitresses dealt with my table. Very friendly and funny. 12 or so minutes from my place. I'd come again. I wanna see if they have some nice wings next time. This is more of a wings and beer spot for me if it's good enough......
Read moreUnfortunately had a real bad experience with this restaurant and pretty disappointed with management here. As a business owner I would expect that leadership at an establishment would be better at driving a situation. There was a situation where someone in my group was bit intoxicated and also upset at the poor service and expressed that wasnt tipping the bartender. Which isnt legally required. Due to someone elses actions i recieved the cold shoulder and was told by the acting manager “Your not going to tip no service” in his own words. Embarrassing me infront of everyone I expressed with him politely i did not make the comment it was someone else. He states “idc your associated and proceeded not serve me. From my point of view this situation shoud have been driven different by management and addresses directly with the person who made the comment. Hopefully management can work on not embarrassing their clients especially when I did not do anything to...
