Review coming from a local (been in the area for 15 years) We sat down and immediately noticed the chairs uncomfortable and flimsy (we were sitting by the bar), restroom needs work to say the least, our server brought over some chips and salsa... some chips were stale and super oily no salt. The salsa was very tomatoe-eeee im not sure looked like canned salsa with red onions and cilantro to brighten it up i assume in addition to that salsa the server offered green and spicy but the bottles were half way empty i guess i was expecting it to be full and more taken care of since it looks like were not doing much the servers were huddled by the end of the bar almost like they were people watching instead. SERVER: Rafel he was great and very funny! Keep HIM!! The food; Molcajete served best when reheated. MOST EXPENSIVE THING ON THE MENU TRYING TO FEED 2 PEOPLE Food was basically reheated here's our hypothesis. We ordered Molcajete which comes with chicken, steak, chorizo and shrimp... if this isn't your first rodeo you know the dish is very flavorful, saucy and best when served scolding hot or im not sure now lol usually how it comes to the table from my experience. The chicken most def was cooked hours before and put back on the grill for a few minutes to "warm up" refrigerator cold on one side like actually COLD and lukewarm on the other which is were the sauce is housed but even that damn near cold as well and only 3 pieces. 2 pieces of OVERCOOKED, COLD steak. Chorizo was very delicious and hot. Shrimp was reheated, frozen little shrimpies lol this plate comes with rice and beans which were... cold. Very disappointing. The dish overall had barely any sauce. We also ordered the birria tacos 4 come in this order it was ok again just warm no cheese pull and the consome was lukewarm as well not very flavorful didn't dislike them but also didnt love it just wish it was hot. $60 over all and I don’t know its not worth it we didnt even order drinks by how disappointing the food we were not eager to try them.. Really wanted to give this place a shot everyone looked very friendly and attentive thats for sure... need a new chef that is going to make or break this joint. The outside was beautiful hope they spend some $$$ on...
Read moreI got tricked by reading good reviews of this place, so I tried it...what a mistake! The guacamole was not fresh, the drinks were bad and the food was pretty awful. The highly rated birria tacos were tasteless. No amount of sauce could help them. The chilaquiles verde wasn't good either, the egg on top was overcooked beyond recognition and the piece of "steak" was like scrapple, paper thin and awful. I will say that our waitress was very nice. The best thing about this place is the murals on the walls, they're really cool. Oh, and they pre-added a 20% tip to the check and then the credit card machine asks you to leave MORE tip on top of that! I tip good without being forced, so having a tip included with just a party of two seems bad, and being asked to double-tip for awful food was out of the question! This place is to be avoided. If anyone knows where the GOOD Mexican food is, please tell me because we like good Mexican, but can't find any...
Read moreThis was the first time I went there. The food was good. The atmosphere was nice but the service I wasn’t very pleased with.. The waitress came by once to ask us how everything was we saw she was busy talking. We had to get her attention to give us some lime. Then we had to get her attention to get a box to put The leftovers and then we asked for the check. She never came by to ask us if you want to coffee or dessert or anything else. Which the table next to us the waitress was very good. She went over the desserts asked them if they want a coffee, cappuccino, etc.. I didnt like that they put the gratuity on the bill. I don’t mind giving them the 20% gratuity, but if they’re not doing their job, then they really don’t deserve that much. she should’ve just paid more attention to her tables than just standing there and talking...
