Extra Space Storage — Local services in Fair Lawn

Used them a couple times, still currently renting from them as I type this.... place is very clean, new locks are great, staff is very friendly and helpful.... pricing is fair for all the units I've inquired about, gate is reliable and never fails to open... main office has basic supplies relevant to what you're there for so you never need to leave when organizing or making room, packing inside your unit etc and need more tape, or boxes or bubble wrap.... I would rate them 5 stars if they had more carts available for use as I have arrived several times to unload stuff from my vehicle into the unit I rent only to find that all the carts are being used by someone else, or a moving company or group of people loading a uhaul.... which is understandable when. Nobody else is there, but if other cars pull up... they shouldn't have to walk to the other building to look for a cart.....the other thing I noticed is there's no camera in the elevator, and I would feel more secure at night if there were more cameras or more lighting.... lastly I think it's time for the floors to be repainted and for the carts currently available to have their wheels oiled with some wd-40 .... otherwise this place is good. If you're in Fair Lawn and need storage, I reccomend giving them...

I always try to be fair and honest with my reviews Pros Highly recommend for the following: Clean secure great hours price is reasonable and the staff is great! Compared to other storages they are on the top of the list. Trust me I’ve used others and Cons What I didn’t like but can live with. First they require you to have your own insurance and you must purchase their ins if you do not have any And last they require you to buy their lock which is $20 and it’s a cylinder. That can’t be used anywhere else after you leave this storage so basically they can offer ppl to recycle locks upon leaving ( these lock keys can’t be copied and then offer these to the new customers for a lower cost if the 3 keys are returned but they kind of force these sales on you and that is not good business practice in my opinion. Initially it’s additionally $60 extra upon entering between admin fee lock and insurance . However if you have homeowners insurance they wave this And the cost is $0 Takeaway Overall the positive fat outweigh the negatives it’s a drop in the bucket trade for the safety security and cleanliness value you get and it’s a go on this facility ! So moving is a stressful experience to say the least. When I found out at the last second I didn't have enough space for my tools and some other belongings I went on a last second hunt for a storage unit (like literally the stuff was in the rental truck). I found Life Storage and went in because I saw a One Month Free advertisement online for their premium drive up units. Inside I met Romelo...I was absolutely blown away. This Assistant Manager was literally one of the best customer service professionals I have ever met. Professional, friendly, easygoing, honest and concise he impressed me. He explained the same day move out procedures, the lock, access hours, perks, everything. Highly recommend Life Storage (of Fair Lawn), recommend working with Romelo even more.
