Having recently dined there, I can confidently say that Saj Restaurant is a true gem that deserves recognition for its flavorsome cuisine and pleasant ambiance.
Walking into Saj Restaurant, I was immediately captivated by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior décor, featuring traditional Middle Eastern elements and rustic accents, created an intimate setting that resonated with the restaurant's cultural identity. The space was clean, well-maintained, and exuded a distinct charm that made me feel right at home.
The menu at Saj Restaurant boasts an array of authentic Middle Eastern dishes, allowing patrons to embark on a delightful culinary journey. From freshly baked bread to fragrant kebabs, the selection offered an enticing range of flavors for every palate. Whether you're a vegetarian or a meat lover, Saj Restaurant has you covered.
For starters, I ordered the traditional hummus and falafel platter. The hummus was smooth and creamy, with just the right balance of garlic and lemon. The falafel, a crispy golden brown on the outside and tender on the inside, was cooked to perfection. Accompanied by a freshly baked saj bread, this appetizer was a fantastic introduction to the flavors to come.
Moving on to the main course, I opted for the mixed grill platter. Presented beautifully on a large plate, the platter showcased an assortment of juicy lamb kebabs, succulent chicken tikka, and flavorful beef kofta. Each bite was bursting with robust spices and perfectly grilled goodness. The accompanying rice and salad added a refreshing element to the dish, creating a harmonious balance of flavors.
The service at Saj Restaurant was friendly and attentive. The staff members were genuinely passionate about their cuisine and displayed extensive knowledge about the menu offerings. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and cater to dietary preferences, ensuring a personalized dining experience.
One minor aspect that could be improved upon is the waiting time for the food. Though not egregiously long, a slightly faster service would further elevate the dining experience. However, once the food arrived, the flavors and quality were well worth the wait.
In conclusion, Saj Restaurant in Paterson, NJ, is a hidden gem for those seeking an authentic Middle Eastern culinary experience. With its cozy ambiance, diverse menu, and attentive service, this establishment stands out in the local dining scene. Whether you're a fan of tahini-laced dishes or crave deliciously spiced meats, Saj Restaurant is sure to leave your taste buds satisfied. I highly recommend a visit to Saj Restaurant and can't wait to return for another...
Read moreI do not recall i ever posted a bad review, but this time i had no choice but to share my bad experience. My wife and i stopped by and ordered 2 kofta sandwiches to go, simple order should not take more than few minutes, the cashier told us 15 min. We waited 15, 30, 45 minutes, even one hour and every time we asked they said 2 minutes, customers who came after us got their food, when i complained that i have been waiting for an hour, the answer came in a very rude way “ if you want a fast food, Macdonald is around the corner” I ended up cancelling the order and left, if they have a sign says “wait an hour or go to Macdonald” i would have just left and went to other restaurant, but promising 15 minutes and taking more than one hour and not even feeling apologetic is not professional. i just wanted to share my experience, just do not go there, if this is how they treat customers, imagine how they...

Disappointed by how we were served. Terrible customer service, we dined in as a family and were charged a service fee and their service was trash, we ordered the mix grill and they only gave 2 small side garlic sauce. They gave us disposable utensils to put our food, which restaurant does that. I had to ask for another spoon, that's when they gave me a proper serving spoon. I also asked for hot sauce to add for some taste and they charged me for it. Make sure when you pay the bill you look at it twice they add items you didn't even have. I was charged for extra garlic sauce and hot sauce which is total nonsense. If someone is dining in don't be cheap with the sauces and be good at your customer service.
I would never come again for dining in. Abu Rass is better and Al Basha and others in this sense not being cheap with...
