The Galata Butcher Grill — Restaurant in Paterson

That was the real disaster of my entire life restaurant experience.

We went there group of my friends and ordered slighlty same food but different. Everybody gave an order as we were wished but chef mixed (intentionally) some of our meals and asked us to put on middle of the table. We did not ask for it.

My friend's order never arrived and chef sent something else which my friend never asked. My friend tried to tell chef that was wrong plate served us but chef did not accept that and my friend was just so disappointed, mad and left the restaurant without eating anything.

We were there to enjoy our night but thanks to the terrible service, could not.

Their checking system is terrible. I am %90 sure we paid much more than what we ate because the waiter was counting meal servings during check out and saying some other food we never ordered. We did not even check invoice just left that restaurant.

Meats are good but over cooked and burned 🔥.

They have a wood tables neglected, discolorized. Leather 2 people seat's sponges garbage. You can feel wood frame of seat when you sit. It is disturbing during the eating your meal.

What I heard from my other friends that restaurant was always like that since they open.

They have a beautiful location but half of restaurant empty.

If they can more carefull during the taking order and respectfull to customers, fix their furniture, that place can make much more revenue from happy customers.

As I said, meats are good but for customer just quality of the food is not enough.

I am spending my limited times with my family on the weekend and going some place to enjoy my weekend and looking much more than quality food which are service, smileys face, quality service.

Unfortunately, The Galata Butcher Deli Grill was not right address for that.

Came to eat at antepli for kunafa. Wanted to eat a shawarma sandwich or a very good gyro sandwich. Went here to get a lamb gyro sandwich. It was wrapped in a laffa bread and I asked to have it well done the meat. Upon waiting 5 to 10min. I got the sandwich and the meat was cold. It wasn't hot like it came out of a grill or anything like that. It did have everything on it. Also the meat wasn't much either.

I'm a big fan of shawarma sandwiches not so much gyro sandwich which is usually a flat piece of meat. It's not strands like in a shawarma sandwich. I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. And in the end I was disappointed. Cold. Not hot. I'm sure maybe their other food is delicious or maybe I had a single bad experience. It shows they have 4.7 stars so I don't know why my experience wasn't the best with the sandwich. It was a 3 of 5. If I need to eat and everything is closed and nothing around maybe I'll stop by to get it. But it's not something I will dream of and salivate to ever return. This was a one time experience and I won't be doing it again.

I am a huge fan of Turkish food. EFES is a great restaurant in Jersey City and they have another location somewhere else where I haven't tried that yet. But Jersey City location the meat is great. So maybe I have high expectation. But this expectation isn't it. It's ok in my opinion.
