Express Phoenix — Restaurant in Pawtucket

Only rating 1 star because there is nothing below that!!!! I used to get food here all the time. This WAS my favorite place, until the quality of the food changed dramatically!!! Today I ordered General Tso Chicken lunch combo with shrimp fried rice. The broccoli that comes with the rice tasted DIRTY! As if it wasn’t cleaned before cooking, or if it was old, making the entire plate of rice taste dirty! The woman who answered the call (who’s name I did not get), repeatedly told me that the broccoli was clean and they’ve never had a problem or complaint and they’ve been open for 3 Years... (I beg to differ because if you look at the reviews to this restaurant, I am not the only one disappointed with the change in quality! ) Anyways, The order was delivery, so when I called back to ask for a refund, they said they will not bring back the money and let me return the food, that I had to WALK back to the restaurant if I wanted my money back, even though I ordered delivery and paid the very rude delivery man a tip!!! I ended up having to Uber there to get my money back, and she didn’t even want to give me the full amount back!!! The workers here are ridiculously rude, and disrespectful!!! The entire restaurant quality is ABSOLUTELY NOT what it was when they first opened! I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT...

Truthfully, we order from here frequently so I would like to preface with that. However, more recently they have a younger lady working the carry out service who is extremely rude. I want to say I’ve seen her the most this summer and even today. She doesn’t greet you when you walk in, just stares at you until she feels like asking you “what did you order” which causes awkward tension for the 10 minutes you’re left staring at her while she’s on her phone. Then when she runs your card she slams the receipt paper down on the little table and points to the tip line on the receipt. Today I just about had it when she started SHAKING the tip cup aggressively while signing my receipt. That is extremely rude! I recently ordered Kung Pao Chicken from this restaurant and was very disappointed. The dish included peanuts, but they were served with the seed coat still on. When I brought it up to the staff, I was told, "That’s how it comes." No, it comes that way because they’re buying the cheapest option—but that doesn’t mean it should be served that way.

The price of the food has gone up in the past couple of years, so there’s no excuse for cutting corners like this. If it’s cheaper to buy peanuts with the seed coat, take the time to remove it before adding them to the dish. Otherwise, just spend the extra couple of bucks on properly cleaned peanuts. I’ve ordered this dish from them before and from other restaurants in the past—none of them ever served it with the seed coat. I won’t be ordering Kung Pao Chicken...
