Update 2/10/24ânow since El Antojo is no more and with it went Mr. Roberto Colombian recipes. I came to Las Delicias today . I had a Bistec Encebollado . It was good . Coffee today was popping hot and fresh . It was great it would be better when they start using actual cups. But it was great coffee today . This place today is busy . The chef came around giving us free taste of a bread he made âit was really good . I finally met the chef after all the years coming here . Nice guy and hard working . I tell you I am not sure but maybe because El Antojo is no more this place is full. I am glad . After meeting the chef , yes , I pray this place grows exponentially to the point the need a bigger place . My only advice is : get a coffee frother if some type and your coffee will be ten stars . I am actually typing this as I am seating in the restaurant waiting to pay . Itâs so busy today . It good news I donât mind waiting . Ezneides was great! My advice capitalize on the fact that the cosmopolitan got rid of Robertoâs Colombian dishes and bring you game up even more . This is not a Colombian restaurant Americanizing the dishes but authentic Colombia food with Colombian cuisines names in the menu . La casona is no good either . Today I saw a big change way more people . Up your game with the coffee which was good today and have your wait stuff be absolutely on point . I am a good tipper , I love tipping well ! 8/2/23â UPDATEâdecided to stop by today cause el paisa and el antojo both on vacation at the same time . This place is buzzing today . I have to stay some things def a step up . Like , the organic milk I see on the fridge . Def made a the coffee a slightly better than last time . My dish wasnât expensive at all , it was Bistec a Caballo ânever had it before âreally wanted HĂgado but they donât serve breakfast past 12pm . So , I opted for this dish . As I said , price wasnât expensive therefore , I didnât expect the quality of the meat to be the best. You get what you paid for as the saying goes . The meat was hard , def a workout for my jaw . The onion and tomatoes mix that comes on top of it was good but boy ! It was such a potential that with organic tomatoes and onion this thing would be an atomic bomb in your tongue . Rice ,well, much better , softer and not too much oil . Like I said for the price I knew the meat would be the way it was hard to chew . But , I wouldnât mind paying more for quality meat . I know most people would complain about the prices going up at this restaurant but this restaurant has potential and I gave it one more star . The coffee is served in cider cups to go at least not foam cups (which is so toxic ) . El bonuelo was great . It is always great here but it needed a bit more warmth to it . Service : only one girl serving . So, you have to signal if you need something . . I have to say , itâs getting better at this place . I shall come back in another year . I am here cause el paisa and El antojo are closed for vacation and La casona is just not good . So , delicias de mi tierra wa any choice today . Also , parking is hard to find . But thank Jesus a space opened up close to the restaurant .
8/11/22 - update - I visited this place today to well try it a second time since my last time which was perhaps more than two years ago . Reason why I went : El antojo doesnât open until. 12pm and el Paisa is closed for vacation until 8/14. Instead of going to La Casona ( not my fav ) I felt like giving La delicias another try . Parked along the street . Itâs free! Got coffee and buñuelo to start . Buñuelo es good . Coffee still needs work . I am telling you this place has huge potential but⊠Itâs just the quality of the products they use đ. Yes, the prices are cheap but itâs because the products are cheap. I mean I donât mind paying a bit more for a good quality meat . Service was great . Coffee tho , needs a lot of work . They donât give you coffee in a coup . Itâs on a to-go cup at least is not styrofoam (which contains forever chemicals that leach into the hot liquid and then itâs...
Read moreExcellent Columbian restaurant with fresh ingredients and great prices. Spanish is the language spoken inside with Google Translate able to help. Our waitress was kind, thoughtful, and great at making recommendations. They close by 5PM most days so breakfast, lunch, and an early dinner at the choices. My wife got the fish with fresh lettuce, fried plantains, bean soup, and rice. Three sweet and tasty fishes were quickly eaten and Loved by her. If you have Spanish speaking friends, you can ask for more details for any menu confusion if English only speaking. We tried this place hoping to explore and support local restaurants. I got the thin sliced steak with 2 fried eggs in an onion and pepper sauce. The rice was fresh as well as the shredded lettuce, pickled cabbage and tomato slice. The plantains I must say were the best in RI that I have ever had. Super good for under $13 We also got their juice drinks. My wife chose one of her South East Asian favorites and LOVED it. I got the berry smoothy mixed with Leche for a dynamic and creamy drink. All of this including the drinks for less than $30 total?! This place is a Must return for...
Read moreHighly recommend for anyone looking to try some Colombian food without breaking the bank. It's not going to have fine dining options, but if you want casual Colombian food like empanadas, buñuelos, bandeja paisa, among other things, it's a really solid option relative to many other Colombian restaurants in the area.
Pros:
-Really casual good food, the empanadas are nice and crispy and with plenty of meat. A lot of Colombian restaurants either have mushy crust, or a lot of potato and not enough carne de res or Pollo. Bunuelos are good, but they are often cold, best had with some "chocolate con leche".
Super affordable prices. You can buy an Arepa with cheese, huevos(scrambled eggs) for a few bucks. You can feed a family of six for less than $50.
Cons:
-limited seating. A part of more than four will have a hard time finding seating (only one table can accommodate)
-service can be slow sometimes. So if you are in a rush, maybe skip and go to la...
