This was not my first time going to Spumoni’s. The atmosphere was ok, the restaurant feels a little bit dark inside but other than that it was fine. The waiter was very nice always making sure we were ok, specially my kids. I’ve never had veal before, so I was feeling a little bit adventurous and decided to order the “The Roman Tour”. It consists of baked ziti, cheese ravioli and veal parmigiana. I have to say it was reeeeeally good! My husband had a piece and he said it was excellent, since I never had it before. It was very tender, it literally melted in my mouth. I was very happy with my choice. My daughter and my husband both ordered the “Fruite Del Mare” and they said it was also really good, portion of seafood was good to. My two sons ordered bacon burgers. They were cooked to perfection! Every time we drive-drove by Spumoni’s this is the only thing I could think about! 👇👇👇👇
The very first time I visited Spumoni’s was over 15 years ago and I didn’t have the time to actually to enjoy my food. When my husband and I were dating he took me there. Little did we knew it was going to end the way it did. My husband ordered something with seafood and he wanted me to try it. I never eat seafood!Next thing you know I immediately felt my tongue and my mouth of fire, and my throat was itchy and I started to cough too. I told my husband, we’re both in the medical field and we recognized that I was having an allergic reaction. We rushed out of the restaurant (after paying, of course!) We stopped at CVS pharmacy just a couple of blocks and bought some Benadryl for me to take it. What was supposed to be a very nice out dining, our date was a “disaster” LOL-NOT! I’m glad I didn’t let fear stopped my to go back and this time actually enjoy...
Read moreThe restaurant was quick to seat us despite our odd party size. We were given a booth with chairs. The upholstery was chocolate brown and looked brand new to the location. This was in comparison to the 1960's feel of the restaurant...it almost did not look Italian and felt like a Catskills Bistro. The staff was really nice and attentive. The restaurant had chattered but more so loud children at 8:45 as we finished dinner. I mean it is veey much a family friendly restaurant. Onnnnn withe food....My "belt buster" pizza was a 5.8 out of 10. The toppings were undercooked peppers and onion were raw; mushrooms tasted wrong; broccoli had issues. The dough was over proofed leaving a doughy unfinished feel. Maybe it was the 8 pm time period and pizza was rushed? The pizza felt like it was thrown together. It is 💯% a knife and fork pizza. To that end, I did not complained and had the staff box up my over 60% of my individual sized pizza ($11.99). I gave a slice granted it was cold and 30 minutes after I left the restaurant to a friend. The friend agrees about the toppings....The others in my party had mixed feelings about their food selection. One friend had the bolognese. This person enjoyed it. Two thumbs up. This person's wife had the Caesar Salad. The person was excited for the anchovie offering. She was not thrilled with the salad. Said the fried Mozzarella was awesome. My other friends had a meal they enjoyed involving a pasta dish. They also had brushetta and cheese garlic bread. They give it a thumbs up. I will say I was impressed with their dessert menu. Despite what seems above as harsh about my pizza, I plan to go again. I want to try the Spumoni and maybe a veal dish.
*update...the pizza improved a little this morning...
Read moreWe came in for lunch today around 1:45 and after we were done eating the manager came to our table and said someone in another section with a different server commented on my dunkin coffee. I had my drink on the table not drinking it. I have brought my coffee inside all summer long because it is hot outside. All of a sudden it is a problem today. The manager told me I couldn't bring my outside coffee at my table anymore but I could leave it at the front stand where the hostesses are. Here is the issue/problem with doing that that the message is inconsistent meaning either you don't allow or you do allow outside beverages being brought into your establishment so it should't matter if my drink is at the table, my beverage could be tampered with, or thrown out. The issue I have is me being told one version my the manager and my server told me a different version of who commented on my outside drink today. I don't like being lied to. We are regular customers and I am very very hurt and highly offended by what transpired today. I walk in your establishment every week and I am very very strict about minding my own business and yet trouble seems to be coming my way lately. I feel singled out, very uncomfortable, discriminated against, hated, and very unwelcome in your establishment going forward. I knew I was in trouble when I saw the manager coming to my table this afternoon. THE ONLY WAY A MANAGER COMES TO OUR TABLE IS TO TELL YOU US WHAT YOU DO WRONG. A MANAGER NEVER COMES JUST VISIT OUR TABLE FOR A FRIENDLY WELCOME AND A HELLO. I have lost my appetite and no desire anymore to go back to your establishment. I got the message that I am being pushed out. Mission accomplished. NO ONE HAS TO TELL ME TWICE WHERE I AM...
