I appreciate that they specify the sodas are fountain and have refills.
Server was super nice. I sat outside, so I'm not sure about the interior, parking lot isn't the best view but the weather was great and it was pretty quiet at 3-4pm.
Started with chips, salsa and chorizo queso. Chips are good, thick and crisp, need salt. Salsa isn't at all hot but has a nice smokey flavor. The chorizo has so much grease it turned the white cheese orange, it was ok at best, I felt like all I could really taste was the grease and it kept pooling on top. * Server brought me some plain queso to replace it though!
~Got the mixed fajitas, beef and shrimp. Not bad, decent. The shrimp was good, but it didn't have much flavor in the overall dish and the beef was a bit tough. I'm from Texas and maybe I'm being overly critical, I haven't found any particularly great beef based meals up here, sorry NE.
Do wish they had large sized tortillas (flour), and these were around grocery store quality.
Final verdict, skip the chorizo, get extra salsa. I continue to be sad on the beef offerings, but it makes sense....
Read moreIt was my 1st time going to Amigo's and it was one of the greatest experiences ever. I had reservations on Cino de Mayo and I found out my friend has also made reservations there. We called to see if they can seat us together. I spoke to the manager Eduardo. He said let me know once you get here I'm not sure if I'll be able to accommodate you on such a busy day. As soon as we got there he offered us an outside table to keep us together it was a bit chilly so we asked if there's anything he could do for us inside. He said we may have to wait about an hour considering how busy they were. He actually came back in less than 5 mins and went out of his way to bring a table from outside to make sure he accommodated us. It was so nice and kind of him. Not to mention they have delicious margaritas and great authentic Mexican food. I restaurant was clean. I have nothing bad to say at all.
