We went there and the A/C was out. We were all starving and decided to stay and eat since they said they told us they were still open and serving when we had started to leave. It is not their fault the A/C was out. We were sat down in a booth. The restaurant had other tables with people eating, but they were not packed. We sat for about 15-20 minutes and no one came over to take our order for drinks or food or well anything. It was hot since the a/c was out, so a drink would have been nice. Since the kids were so thirsty and we had drinks in the car, they went out to go get them. I went to see if I could order food online for pick up, but they do not have online ordering for this location? So I asked up front if I could just place an order to go, and was told that they close the kitchen and don't making food since they close in an hour. ? . I totally get if they were closing the kitchen early due to no a/c....but why didn't they just say that if that was the case? Or not seat us and then never come back over to us? Other people were sat and served during the time we were waiting. We are not a disruptive or rude bunch either. So I am not really sure what happened. At least now I know that this location closes down for food orders early, and they do not offer online ordering or pick up. I will say it was a cleaner looking Friendly's that had a decently large eating area with...
Read moreFriendly's is by far the worst restaurant chain I have ever experienced, whether it's just getting an ice cream or waiting to sit down, no matter which store I have visited it's always the same terrible visit. The setup is completely disorganized and counter intuitive. From having cash registers right in front of walk in doors causing pile ups to an empty entry area with no sight of staff or sign to assist with the seating procedure. Wait times are always excessive and the food is always poorly prepared. This location was no exception to the experience. From Keene, NH to Peabody, MA it's all the same. It's ashame really cause my kids love the friendly idea of the place but we've only managed to actually stay and eat about a hand full of times because more often than not we have just left due to the excessive wait times and poor service at various locations through the two states. Others may have better experiences but for us I would just suggest another family friendly...
Read moreToday is my daughter's birthday and her choice for dinner from Friendly's she was so excited to have dinner from their because it's nostalgia from previous visits with her grandparents. My husband ordered a takeout meal for us and it was absolutely disappointing! For starters l had ordered the fish and chips and it was fried to a crisp! l couldn't cut it with a knife. On top of that both of kid's chicken meals were fried with the same oil from the fish. When my husband called the manager he said hehad to let the boss know what the issue was. They responded quick to call back to ask if he could return the fish meal back to restaurant, they didn't include my children's meal. Now l know that it's not a long travel time from Beverly to Peabody but what time was l actually going to eat and, what about my children's meal? Seriously your restaurant has gone hill. My husband paied 90.86 for nothing. Thanks for ruining my...
