My husband and I are on a noble quest to find the best pizza in town. Unfortunately, our latest adventure at Mellow Mushroom was more than an uneventful magical mushroom moment. One again, we were let down.
We walked in last night genuinely excited. I’ve always been a big fan of Mellow Mushroom like. So to say I was excited is a wild understatement.
It wasn’t busy. There were plenty of empty tables, and yet the hostess greeted us with the enthusiasm of someone being forced to do algebra on their day off. She asked how many, then walked away. Another employee stood nearby rolling silverware, completely tuned out, like she was meditating in a silverware trance.
The hostess eventually returned, said nothing, grabbed some menus, and just walked off. Naturally, we assumed this was our cue to follow her like lost puppies. We sat down and that’s when I noticed… no one was smiling. Every employee looked like they’d just been told the Wi-Fi was down and Love Island was canceled forever. I’ve never seen so many RBF’s in one place it was almost impressive.
We ordered a couple appetizers and a pizza. The bruschetta? A sad little pile of soggy bread topped with what I can only assume was a tomato’s last cry for help. The cheesy bread was somehow flavorless, and the marinara sauce was cold and tasted like it had an identity crisis.
When the pizza finally arrived, I was starving and dangerously close to full “hangry.” So I powered through two slices of what I can only describe as hot, damp cardboard with toppings. Someone random brought our food our actual server was like a ghost: unseen, unfelt, and definitely not checking on us. By the time she returned, our cups were empty and so were our spirits.
All in all, if you’re looking for a depressing ambiance, apathetic service, and food that tastes like it’s going through something this place nails it. I did notice the staff smiling, as tables...
Read moreAbsolutely atrocious service. We ordered two gluten-free pizzas about a week and a half ago had them delivered the pizzas that arrived we’re not gluten-free we called in and spoke with the manager who couldn’t deliver new pizzas because it was right at closing time and they stated they couldn’t get a driver, they took all of our information and stated they would give us a credit for our meal costed or replace it whatever we chose to. I called in placed an order Nicholas super nice kid remembered the issue, took the order and had me come. I arrived after driving 15 minutes. The manager and him were apparently looking for the credit or voucher for about 15 minutes before she came out. She didn’t introduce herself and carried an attitude immediately, she then started arguing with me about delivery saying it wasn’t her store, managers Didn’t leave anything so it clearly didn’t happen. Meanwhile Nicholas the employee, clearly remembered the situation. She could tell I was extremely frustrated and I told her they didn’t ask me to bring in a receipt or anything, or I would have being it was at the hotel. after it was clear, she wasn’t doing anything about the situation and the pizza just sitting there. I told her I would go back to the hotel and get a receipt. On the way back, I decided I wasn’t going to drive all the way back to Peachtree city Just to provide a receipt to show that I wasn’t stealing two pizzas😆 I’ll gladly upload the receipt to any general manager, or corporate personal to prove we weren’t trying to get over on two pizzas. As far as I’m concerned, they can keep the money we spent on the wrong orders throw away the food they made, and they lost a customer for good. I would highly recommend swapping out managers for one who is competent...
Read moreMy review is solely based on the service. I paid about $70 for awful service for only 2 people! I will never do it again! Our hostess was younger (17 - 21ish) and appeared to be training someone. She was beyond rude and walked around like she had a chip on her shoulder. We walked in and she instantly looked inconvenienced. She had dirty blond hair that was sloppily placed in a messy bun hanging on the top and side of her head. Every time she had to do something she had the most inconvenienced look on her face. She addressed myself and my daughter not with a hello but with “to go or for here?” I said for here and her eyes rolled as she instructed her trainee to put us at table 20. Our table was a booth that was hosted by a very pleasant but slow moving Dave Grohl look alike. The restaurant wasn’t packed or super busy but It took a while for our food to come out. Our food came 30 minutes after we ordered(seemed slow for 2 pizza’s and a salad. But then we saw the hostess seating a family of 5 at a table for 4. She pulled a chair from Another table for 4 and stuck someone on the corner. The “trainee” suggested they put 2 tables together for them and the hostess put her finger over her mouth, shushed her , and said “no, they didn’t ask for it.” Thankfully, “Dave Grohl” suggested putting 2 tables together.
Our food tasted good, our waiter was fine, but the Kitchen was slow. We continued to watch the hostess walk around with such an attitude as if she were entitled and untouchable. Regardless of how good the food was, until they are able to hire a staff with a nice disposition and a little hustle, I will pass on this...
