DiBar Grill is fantastic! This was our very 1st time at this lovely restaurant and everyone and everything was amazing.
The restaurant is beautifully designed/set up with open seating and a separate room for the bar area. Each area is very clean. The Hostess/Management was very kind and friendly; so accommodating to all of our needs.
The menu is simple and clear...not overwhelming at all. Dusty placed our order and she was able to give us great recommendations and explain items we questioned.
The 1st thing we ordered was the DiBar Trio and also received a complementary platter of Sangak warmed flatbread (warm and delicious). The Sangak is made fresh everyday and DiBar is the only place in Georgia that makes Sangak daily.
We came in as a party of 3, so we were able to try one another's entrees. I must say every single entree was so amazing, aromatic, flavorful and just overall fulfilling. I would highly suggest entrees:
Shishlik: Lamb Chops (So Tender)| Yogurt | Onions | Taaj Spices | Serve with Saffron Basmati Rice | Torshi | Harisa
Lamb Kabob: Lamb loin | Saffron | Tomato | Taaj spices | Serve with Lentil Basmati Rice | Torshi. *They ran out of the Lentil Basmati rice so we were able to substitute in the MORASA RICE, which paired so nicely with the lamb.
Chinjeh: Prime beef sirloin (So Tender) | Yogurt | Onion | Saffron | Serve with Lubia Polo( Green Beans Rice) | Torshi
And for dessert we all tried the Chocolate Moose Cake (so good!!)
Again, I can't say it enough, the staff, food, ambience and the overall energy when you walk in just made our experience a very pleasant one and we thank you all!! Well worth every penny and can't...
Read moreTaaj is one of the most wonderful Persian restaurants in Atlanta. Although very new, I have been to this restaurant at least 6 times in the past month because I love the food so much. The owners of this restaurant are the sweetest and always treat you with kindness and compassion. Their food is amazing and the portion sizes are fantastic. Many Persian restaurants charge a lot of money for mediocre food, but at Taaj you get more than what you pay for. The food is fresh, flavorful, and filling. They start you off with traditional bread with cheese and greens. Their hummus is some of the best hummus I have ever had, it’s fresh and buttery. We always get the family plate that comes with 4 kabob (chicken barg, lamb shank chicken/beef koobideh), 4 sides of rice, onions and tomatoes. We also got the beef barg to try which did not disappoint. If you like places like rumis or sufis this place is for you, but the food is better and the prices are too. Don’t let the outside of this restaurant deceive you, it’s clean and kept up with. They don’t do any gimmicks or over charge you for ambience like many middle eastern restaurants in GA. It’s just Amazing food and great people. It is definitely NOT a “hole in the wall” restaurant like other reviewers have said. I love this place and it’s my go to place for authentic Persian food....
Read moreI happened to be in that side of town and was craving Persian food and found this place. I had actually eaten there a few years back before the renovation. I ordered a Ghormeh sabzi to go and asked for the usual side of bread and sabzi served by all Iranian restaurants in town. Upon arrival, I was told by the hostess that there is a surcharge for bread. A long conversation followed as I have NEVER, in the 17 years Ive been here and gone to the various restaurants around, heard such a ridiculous concept.
Bread and sabzi in Persian restaurants are the chips and salsa to the Mexican restaurants. The outcome of the conversation was that regardless of dine in or take out, they limit complementary bread to 2 pieces. She then proceeded to take my order back to the kitchen to remove the 2 extra pieces of bread they originally put with my order. As for the Ghormeh sabzi, it was too oily and gave me indigestion all night.
I will definitely not return as there are far better Iranian places in town with similar price range. The sangak bread wasn't out of this world either. I can buy the frozen version sold by Persian groceries stores and just heat it up- same result. Highly...
