I meant to do a review about this place when I actually visited but better late than never. I finally decided to check this place and finally we have a Jamaican restaurant thatās actually good in this area. I was looking forward to trying this place out ever since I saw the sign driving past it. Not only is the customer service good, but the food is amazing. The owner let me try out some samples of the food and I wanted to get the whole menu but couldnāt break my bank account.
I tried the jerk chicken with Mac and cheese and cabbage and man, was it good. I usually feel some kind of way when I see black folks not baking their Mac and cheese with no brown spots on the edges but there's was an exception. I was impressed. Their jerk chicken didnāt even need any sauce. I also got the curry salmon which was alright. That was probably my least favorite. I guess grilled salmon tastes better to me which is why I wasnāt impressed with that. The curry goat with the white rice and cabbage made up for it though. That was my favorite out of the 3 meals I got. I tore that plate up. I will definitely be back there especially since itās down the street from me.
Just a couple of suggestions for the owner, itās way too dark in there. One of your competitors, Kool Runnings also in Peachtree Corners has a more lively atmosphere but Iām not impressed with their food. Yāall got the Jamaican music playing but itās just looks dark from the outside looking in. Maybe itās the tinted windows that make it like that but the inside with the colors could be more bright and more inviting. Make people want to stay in and eat. Thatās part of the reason why I took my food to go. The dark colors made the atmosphere make it seem not vibrant. I know thatās the colors of the Jamaican flag too but spruce up the place a bit. Itāll help out a lot. Also, yāall need to add some deserts to your menu. I donāt like Spice It Up down the street from yāall, but their sweet potato pies are very good. That alone makes me go back there just to get those. Also, have some brochure menus for folks to take back with them and give out to other businesses to help get the word out. Place those in barbershops, beauty salons, local businesses around yall so more people will know about this place. The food is good and the customer service is great but if yall make those changes that I suggested, I guarantee yall be a success in this area. We already donāt have enough great Jamaican restaurants down here as it is so I appreciate yall moving into this area. I still recommend everyone to come try their food. You wonāt be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFeels like Iām in my momās or grandparents kitchen when I come to Yardy kitchen. Iāve become a regular now but even before I was a regular I was always greeted with a warm hello & smile from the chef/owner Frank & Michelle.
When I donāt feel like cooking this is where I come because I know Iām going to get good cooked food. Weāve gotten Oxtail, Brownstew chicken, Stew Snapper, Stew Salmon and they have all been delicious. I even love how they make their plaintains
The only thing I havenāt tried yet are my breakfast favorites: Ackee & saltfish/ Callaloo & saltfish with some boiled food. I normally come during lunch or for dinner so I will definitely come for breakfast one Saturday.
I grew up on beef patty with coco bread but Yardyās Jerk chicken patty is a whole other taste. This is my go to order now. I love that their patty isnāt greasy, some places the grease is coming through the paper bag. Also their patty is filled with the meat from top to bottom as they should be, youāre not short changed with their patties.
Itās hard to find authentic Jamaican restaurants but Iām so happy Yardy Kitchen is in Peachtree corners now. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for authentic Jamaican food.
Mi love Yardy kitchen like...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a Jamaican, I usually don't frequent Jamaican restaurants in the Atlanta area. Especially on this side of town because it's hard to pay for food you know you can make better. However, Yardy kitchen is now my family's restaurant of choice when we don't feel like cooking. Their curry chicken and curry goat are fan favorites. Nice level of pepper and I love that they put potato and carrot. I've also had the red bean soup which isn't 100% authentic but Yardy does a great job of getting it close to the real deal.
On our latest visit the star of the show was a vegan dish. It is often difficult to cater to vegan family and friends so I can't tell you how overjoyed my cousin was when she saw Jerk Vegan Jack Fruit on the menu. She was skeptical at first, but then after one bite all I could hear were random sounds of delight. She loves pepper and Yardy jerk sauce has the right amount. I can see her making that 40 min drive just for that.
Please Yardy do not change any of your recipes or ingredients. We will be back to try some other...
