I really wanted to like this restaurant. I went a few years ago thinking it was okay and decided to try it again. My server was polite. But most of our food was not good. Got 3 types of sashimi: salmon, yellowtail, and amberjack. They were a nice size and thickness. The amberjack was very firm, almost tough. The others were very nice. We got 3 rolls. The Happy Roll and the roll topped with spicy tuna were very disappointing. The Happy Roll was so large and hard to eat. The fish inside looked like the odds and ends of fish, and did not taste fresh. The spicy tuna was also off. The Rainbow Roll was mediocre. After we paid, we had to stay back because the staff charged us incorrectly (a lower amount) stating they were using a new system. We waited for quite awhile for them to figure it out. Then server was very apologetic, but it did take a very long time for her and the hostess to figure it out after calling someone on the of phone. They ended up giving us a $2 discount (on a $71 check) which seemed a bit insulting. To add to our frustration, my partner and I both ran to the bathroom as soon as we got home with very upset stomachs. I have a feeling it was related to our dinner. Would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSushi Mito is one of those hidden gems places that you hold close to the heart. An extensive menu of authentic Japanese food, that will make you drop a chunk of change to try every single thing at once or come back every day to experience their multitude of flavors and service. We had the toro nigiri recommend by the server, which was by far the cheapest I have ever tried, but it was up there is flavor and softness. Just melted in my mouth. Simply put - Amazing. Also had the Peach roll, and salmon filed croquet with asparagus, rolled in sushi form, served with a sweet like Mayo, also incredible. The dragon roll and the double shrimp rolls were also very good, will definitely get them again. Since me and the wife were starving, we also shared a chicken teriyaki plate with vegetable cakes. Chicken was good and savory, rice was hot, and came with cold broccoli. All good, but we were stuffed by then. However, those like vegetable cakes were awesome! Not what we're were expecting is size, but the flavor was making us want more when we couldn't fit a single bite. Recommend this place for any time of the day and occasion. Daily specials and great food, you can't never go wrong. Will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter almost 2 years in the South, a Japanese restaurant to write family about! (And I will say that itās not fair because I used to work at Sushi Hiroyoshi in Las Vegas and Iāve been spoiled and biased ever since!).
This spot imports their fish from Japan and the taste of the fish supports that. The ramen is on point and the broth is great as we prefer either a veggie broth or clear chicken broth and they provide a wonderful and āhugā inducing chicken broth!
The agedashi tofu was good- above average, just a bit more smothered than I can truly appreciate. The daikon and ginger grated topping was definitely plentiful and loved that.
The March 2025 tuna specials are up and we shared the negitoro roll and Toro nigiri- melted like butter!
Happy to have finally found a spot that is only 30 mins from us and cuts down on the travel needed to head back to Las Vegas, or continue daydreaming about that Japanese food tour in Jaoan!
Thanks Sushi Mito- excited for the laughing and joking from the Japanese sushi chefs to the laughing and family dinner time for the...
