Please teach the owners of the Tucker location on Lavista Rd how to run a Newk’s. This food is so good and fresh, it’s ridiculous. I love this location. The staff is very friendly and it’s clean. But the Tucker location not so much. It’s closed down now. But I saw the writing on the wall a year ago and I wrote a review about it. It’s a shame they didn’t read it and make the necessary changes to prevent a shutdown. I believe the issue was poor management. They were always closing the lobby forcing us to eat outside. One time the manager refused (short, petite lady with a boy cut) to give me a fork for my salad with honey mustard that she forced me to eat outside in my car. The bathroom was always dirty. You would see filth in the women’s bathroom. Come back a week later and find the same filth. Dried blood on the feminine container. Shameful! They had plenty of people working, but the tables would go unbussed for hours outside - bees just swarming. So if you ever reopen the Tucker location take a page out of the Norcross location’s book and get a clue owners & managers cuz we know how it’s supposed to be the run. And if we are using a measuring stick, the Tucker location didn’t even come close. And it’s not just me either. Other customers would be complaining too amongst themselves. You just found the vocal one. Do better Tucker Newk’s or don’t...
Read moreThis was my second time going to this restaurant. The first visit was pleasant enough. This visit started out that way, but ended up being disappointing.
I came in about 15 minutes before closing. I was greeted promptly by the cashier. I inquired about the loaded potato soup. I asked the cashier if the soup had bacon bits. She advised it did not, they were just sprinkled on top. I thought great and advised to leave them off. I placed my order and had pleasant conversation with the cashier while I waited for my order. It seemed to take a little longer than I expected, since no other customers were waiting, but all in all, I was pleased.
The disappointment came when I got home. Imagine my surprise when I stirred my soup and thought I saw bacon bits. I thought to my self, no, I must be hallucinating the green tag on the bag stated no bacon bits. So, I took a mouthful and sure enough, bacon bits! Well, that was such a disappointment. $9.00 down the drain. I threw the soup away. Beware, I guess I should have checked before I left...

Newk’s “Q”: sandwich was extremely dry and overcooked! Lacked sauce and cheese. I couldn’t even see any cheese or sauce on the sandwich.
Newk’s Chicken Salad sandwich: it was tasty no complaints.
Green Goddess Salad: avocado was rotten. I picked them all off. The salad was prepared nicely with the exception of the rotten avocados. However, the salas dressing is bland. When I got home I added a little salt, lemon, and garlic and it was a hit.
Lobster Bisque: the flavor was amiss. The sherry and cream doesn’t compliment the soup.
The customer service wasn’t great. We were not greeted, the cashier didn’t engage with us given it was our first time in the restaurant. I felt like a new kid in school trying to figure out if It is self seating, self ordering, and etc. Management need to provide customer training to the front of the house staff.
Overall it’s not a bad restaurant, but it...
