Little Willie's BBQ Pearl — Restaurant in Pearl

Some of the Very BEST 🏆Barbecue in the Jackson/Pearl/Brandon Mississippi (MS) area.👏👍(5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) - NO QUESTION! 😄👍

And I’ve tried over TEN (10) different BBQ places here, around the Jackson MS area (and consider myself a BBQ “Expert”🥇).

Out of them all, I would say that Little Willie’s is Number ONE☝️around here (with Sylvester’s, Jefferson’s, and Gator Jr’s, being a close 2nd 🥈[Google 🔎them]).

I usually get the Pork 🐖Ribs, which are a VERY TASTY 😋rib - and HUGE🙀 in size (see attached photo) - other places usually carry the smaller 🤏 [St Louis] cut, but Little Willie’s uses and offers the [LARGER] whole sized ribs - which means you get MORE MEAT 🤤🥩).

PLUS, their prices are MUCH more reasonable [Less] than other places around here (so far 😉).

As an example, I usually pay $18 bucks💰for a half-rack of Pork ribs, at Little Wille’s (again, see 👀 picture) - but other places around here are charging $25+ (again, with smaller Ribs too) 🥵👎

So go to Little Willie’s (if you want BIGGER portions, at a lower ⬇️ price)👍 - Plus, they have MANY locations - with all locations have HUGE sit down area’s.

(I think 🤔 the Pearl location is the BEST (with good [Fast⚡️] customer service 👍)).

Overall, I do personally feel that Texas BBQ 🍖 is the very BEST👍 (in the entire country - like one other Reviewer noted), BUT, it is also EXTREMELY expensive!! 😱💸 - As an example, I recall paying over $60 Bucks 🥵for a half-pound of Brisket and five bones 🦴 of Ribs!! (At Hutchins BBQ in Frisco TX) — That’s over THREE (3) times (more expensive🙀🤯) than most places in Mississippi.

So if I had a choice of:

1. Pay more (and getting LESS), for better tasting BBQ, or
2. Paying LESS money, and getting reasonably tasting BBQ - then I will ALWAYS go more for #2👏🫶

So if you’d like decent (no,…good👍😉) BBQ, in Mississippi, then Little Willie’s IS the place-to-go 👍

You WON’T...

I don't know they get top honors for a BBQ restaurant.

For starters, if you're handicapped, you're going to have issues getting inside. They have a 3ft brick wall surrounding the place to keep the flooding out.

Next, I didn't see any handicapped tables. But I really wasn't paying much attention because of the menu board with options way that seems doubled and is hard to decipher because it's like reading scrambled eggs.

Then, menu items wanted, weren't available.

The prices were high for what we received. We got a brisket plate, because they didn't have shiskabob. The brisket was so dry, the leather on a tennis shoe would have been easily more tender and tasty. Even pouring 2 cups of provided BBQ sauce didn't help. And what we thought was a burnt end, was a rib bone.

Ordered a piece of boudin, it was over fried, and tasted rancid. I debated about giving it to my dog, it was so nasty!

The fries were good. The fried pickles were decent. Too much fish fry breading on them. But the ones that didn't, tasted good. The fried pies, least expensive thing I purchased, was the best tasting, even though bit over cooked. I can't believe one of the wait staff when she said they had a mad lunch rush and she was just getting it cleaned up at 230pm.

And they had 2 call in orders while we were waiting the 20 minutes, not 10 like she said, for our take out order, and those call in orders, weren't even ready when the customers arrived. They had to wait just as long as we did.

DISAPPOINTED to say the least! I can get less expensive, tastier BBQ at a gas station! Or a Food Truck!

The only thing I recommend for this place, is Avoid it. Spend your dining...

Where do I start with?

This place has been going down hill a lot a lately. Not only has some of the food become subpar, you are allowing your employees to chase off long time customers.

If your employees cannot handle dealing with a customers, then they should not be put up front ever and should probably find another job where they don't have to talk to anyone.

It is a shame to see how this place has fallen so far since the owner passed away. I know the current owner does not care for the business and it is really showing.

Furthermore, this place is not handicap friendly at all. How can a public place get away from having to not follow the laws of being handicap accessible?

In short, awful customer service that is turning away customers and subpar food all equate to a less than mediocre place to get food from.

STAY AWAY AND GO SOME PLACE ELSE!!!

In response to the owner: These are not false accusations and clearly if you read your reviews, there are more people than me talking about some of the things I did. Just having a ramp outside does not make everything handicap friendly. Furthermore, you don't know me so don't pretend to know my reasons for posting about my experience at your establishment, but please share away since you DO think you know me. What was posted was my experience and the truth. Truth hurts and if as the owner you can't handle hearing how your employees are behaving and treating your customers, then perhaps you are in the wrong business or...
