AJ's Snowcones — Restaurant in Pearland

AJ's Snowcones is really, REALLY good. There's something about their shaved ice that is just different than other places. It feels smooth, almost like it melts in your mouth. There are no hard chunks.

I got the Rainbow flavor - it is magical how they create the colorful pattern from top to bottom of the snowcone.

Being a small shack, they tend to have a long drive-thru line, especially during peak times in warm months. However, they do the best they can, with two independent drive-thru lines that don't conflict or merge with each other. Be prepared for a long wait. It took us over 30 minutes on a hot Friday afternoon.

It's been ages since having a snow cone, and those treats of yore were good but icy and crunchy. Not so with AJ's! We stopped by on a Texas-hot Monday afternoon to sample something cold. Wow. Are these fantastic! I got Dreamsicle while my hubs got sugar-free banana. No idea what magic creates this kind of ice shaving, but it's almost soft and fine enough to be mistaken for sherbet. Generous portions and extremely fresh. I spied Frito pie and corn-in-a-cup on the menu, so we'll sample those another time. Whether by design or happy little Bob Ross accident, the drive-through window is on the east side of the building and shaded with trees, so the brief wait was very pleasant. The BEST shaved ice anywhere! Very large variety of flavors. Prices are very reasonable. $3 for large, $3.75 for extra large. They have other offerings such as coffees, picktos, nachos, sundaes, and ice cream just to name a few. There is usually a line when the weather warms up, but it's worth it. They do have a line on each side of the building, which helps to speed things up a bit. Please make sure to follow the traffic flow signs especially on the west side of the building.
