Manager thinks it's ok to mock and make fun of sign language. My husband, who is Deaf, has a friend who works here and after helping a Deaf customer who had some groceries fall under her basket, the manager walked right up to my husband's friend and began waving his hands around and hitting the sides of his head while laughing. It's 2024 and this is seriously the attitude towards signed languages? On top of this, my husband's friend said this manager told them he was speaking indian sign language when all he was doing is making fun of and mocking ASL and Deafies. My husband speaks indian sign language and that assertion made me even angrier.
My husband and I already don't really eat here after seeing employees not always wearing gloves and touching their phones and then immediately handling food. They also consistently let the CO2 leak from their tank and just ignore it, despite the sound of the gas leaking is loud enough to hear from outside the restaurant. It was leaking for over 3 days straight the last time I was at this store and I would say if they can't even be bothered to stop that leak, what else are they overlooking?    Read moreMy friend worked here. The other day, when they tried to go to the bathroom, the manager who is over a foot taller than them got mad, yelled and cussed at them. They became so scared, they left and quit rather than be subjected to this kind of verbal abuse. I don't know why this man is still working here! I'm Deaf and he makes fun of sign language and now this?? Going to the bathroom is a human right! I really cannot believe this is the kind of person Charley's has as a manager! My wife and I have been boycotting this restaurant since this same manager was waving his hands and hitting his face while claiming it was sign language and I am going to be telling ALL my friends to join the boycott. I know from speaking to the Deaf customers that come to the store, that none of them feel comfortable going to this place because of the manager and how he treats them. Stephen was a much better manager and ALWAYS treated me with respect. A manager should be someone who treats everyone with respect, worker or customer or whoever.    Read moreThe cashier charged me for (2) combos when I only ordered (1). I simply asked for a refund right away as soon as noticed it, food hadnât even started cooking. The cashier Naushad then asked me if Iâd like something else on the menu in its place. I said no, refund please. Then he said give me a second. Less then a minute later he came and said they cannot do refunds, remind you I had not received my food yet. I said well what happens when someone makes a mistake, and his response was and I quote âI donât make mistakesâ and told me if I wanted a refund I should file a fraud claim with my credit card. I said and I quote âNo, one that is unlawful as it isnât a true fraud claim and two they would cancel my card and have to ship me another one.â He replied back with âNo, they wonât cancel your cardâ as if he works for the bank and knows.
