Celaya Restaurant — Restaurant in Pearland

After 18 years I finally stopped in to see what I have been missing. Customer service was top notch from the start so things are already going good for 8am. My son is not a huge breakfast fan so he asked his normal question, “ Is the whole menu available?” Yes it is, the day is getting better by the minute. Drink order taken and chips and salsa on the way, I am seriously starving at this point so I can’t wait, The chips are warm and crispy and the salsa is served in a bowl twice the size of most places. The first chip hit the salsa at hyper speed and a moment of bliss ensued. The sauce according to my son is the best he has eaten. It was smooth and warm with plenty of flavor. It is a very mild salsa that any palate can handle. The first bowl was gone in record time with a second on the way. The day at this moment is perfect. Now on to our entrees.

Entrees : Super Burrito. 8/10 A 12-inch flour tortilla stuffed with 5 oz. of grilled steak fajita, rice, beans, sour cream, lettuce, pico de gallo and guacamole. This is a phenomenal burrito. It is big so you better be hungry. The fajita meat was really tender with an excellent crust. The ingredients are your typical fare in a burrito but the meat gives this one an edge.

Pollo Ranchero. - 5/10 Grilled chicken topped with ranchero sauce. Served with rice, beans, pico de gallo and guacamole Let’s start with the most important critique, the ranchero sauce needs some serious work. It’s not really a sauce, it wants to be but just doesn’t get there. It needs more seasoning as well. The chicken was tender but suffered from a lack of seasoning as well. The guacamole, rice, and beans were all really good, which helped save the dish. It wasn’t horrible because I left a clean plate, it just needs a revamp.

I have seen the good and the bad reviews of Celaya’s and I can honestly say that the good outweighs the bad easily. Everyone has different tastes, so the sauce that I love might not be the sauce you love. At the same time that alone doesn’t make it bad, just different.

The great customer service and salsa makes it a must try if you haven’t.

Just don’t forget to bring any concerns to the management, problems can’t be fixed if they don’t know about...

We've been coming her for years! Today was completely different from our other visits. We paid our $28 dollor tab and both our cards were declined. Which was pretty much impossible I immediately logged on to our account and there was two charges from Celaya! I showed both the waitress and owner. He insisted on charging my card again. Gave him the card he charged it 2 more times card declined again. Looked at my account we're up to $100 dollars! He wasn't satisfied and made us pay cash! Told us to call our bank! I did not appreciate after showing proof this man STILL made us pay cash and now want's us to call our bank! To fix the fact that he charged us $111 for a $28 dollar breakfast. Will not be coming...

If you want a Mexican breakfast in Pearland, especially during the week, go try Celaya. I was pleasantly surprised, I had seen it many times over the years but never thought to stop. The prices are incredible for this day and age. The food was fresh and tasty. It was a nice, clean, and quiet environment, a great place to relax and start the day off before all the hustle and bustle of life. The service was great. A barbacoa taco for $2.75... wow. We ordered the migas plate, huevos rancheros plate with sausage instead of bacon and 2 barbacoa tacos. Tortillas are homemade. I even put some of my barbacoa on my migas and still had enough for my taco. Support a local business and try this place, I'm going to try...
