Taqueria Los Agaves — Restaurant in Pearland

So, I will preface this by saying that we did not end up having to pay for our meal.

So this place came highly recommended by someone we trust, and our experience here was not a good one. It started out well enough, can we placed our order of flautas for my wife and carne asada tacos for me along with a small queso.

It did take the queso an unusually long time to come out and that is only melted cheese, but we didn't think much of it. My wife's plate eventually made it out to our table but my plate was nowhere in sight. After several minutes I got up to ask where my plate was and at first they told me they were short staffed and only had one grill guy (something we were not told when we placed our order). We did not see this issue at any of the other tables, we simply think they forgot to make my plate. In fact the person that I spoke to you about the whereabouts of my food didn't even attempt to expedite or find out what was going on with it instead asking if I just wanted to cancel the plate. It wasn't till I asked for a manager that they seem to kind of go into action and the manager said I didn't have to pay for my food. The plate finally made it out as we were getting ready to leave, but the damage was already done.

Well I understand that these things can happen it was their poor response that leaves a bad taste my mouth, so even though I can't comment on the quality of the food I can comment on the quality of service and in my opinion it was poor.

So I have come a few times to this restaurant. The first time we had great service. The waiter was nice and the service of the food was fast and it tasted great. Now the next few times we had extremely rude and stuck up waitresses. The women that work there have a bad attitude and ugly service. I ignored a couple of times how they acted before, because i really enjoyed their food. Well last night we went to try again and it will be my last! First thing I noticed the cooks were playing their reggeton music loud and it even looked like they were drinking back there. The waitress Tayde had an ugly attitude attending us and she rolled her eyes when my son ordered the food speaking English and she even got his order wrong. They were taking a long time in getting our food something that we didn't experience before. I had to sit there and stare at the cooks and when they noticed that I was mean mugging them they turned off their loud music and looked like they were barely starting to cook meals. The service was terrible and the food tasted terrible as well! They most have new cooks and waitresses because they honestly looked like they didnt know what they were doing. Needless to say I did not tip the waitresses well because her attitude and service was shitty and it is a privilege to even receive a good tip. Try other restaurants in pearland...

I have seen this location for a few years now but always just driving past but we came Saturday, Oct 11 and wow!!! WOW! I had been missing out! I hate I hadn’t come earlier! The atmosphere was perfect! The music was great the staff was GREAT! Tayde waited on us and SHE WAS AMAZING! She knew what to recommend and made sure we had everything we needed. Before we left it got busy but still she made sure we were ok and we needed an order to go and they all were efficient in making our food, packing it perfectly and everyone in the restaurant cooks, waitresses and all seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. Makes a HUGE difference in how they serve us bc they are enjoying it.

Today, we drove the 30 min again to come back. 10/20 because we had to bring our family to try what we had experienced. Again we were lucky to have Tayde serve us. All of us were debating between 2 plates and she gracefully and very expertly suggested the BEST plates. She was patient with our indecisiveness and always attentive. We couldn’t be happier and I will ALWAYS drive the 30 min past gringos and all Tex-mex restaurants to come here. The food, the service, and the prices are superb! Come check them out, you...
