Okay! I have been wanting to visit this location for so long as the reviews I’ve heard are amazing, spoiler alert - they were not wrong! My friend and I walked in around 6:00pm and it took approximately a minute for someone to greet us. This didn’t bother us too much as we were taking in the atmosphere and were just happy to be there, LOL. We were seated at a booth, however ended up opting to sit at the bar because the booth chairs are low. The bar was clean and comfortable so that was a plus. Service at the bar and overall the entire restaurant seemed slow. Our waitress let us know that the food would take about 35 minutes so she took that first and then went onto the drinks and hookah. We appreciated the heads up. For food, I got the Tasso Kabrit (Fried Goat) - Complete) which comes with your choice of right and plantains- I opted for black rice. My friend got the grilled shrimp with black rice. We both got a side of Macaroni as well. All of these were so good! In all honesty, the shrimp was probably the best shrimp i’ve had in a long time. The goat was also so good and flavorful. Everything was actually perfect.

They are not a full bar so be mindful however they have 3 specialty cocktails and we got the Darker the berry and very mellow, both of these were so good! Not too strong, and tasted like they were made with the real ingredients.

The reason for the low rating, despite great food and ambiance is because of the subtle hygiene. I dropped my mac and cheese and our server got Me a new one (I was extremely grateful) However, once the I got home, my mac had a red long hair baked inside- my hair is blonde. This just put a damper on the entire experience I also witnessed one of the ladies lick Her hands and touch a cup and one of the other ladies were touching dirty glasses and then proceeded to make patrons drinks.

Overall, I would go back but hygiene and sanitation needs...

This was my first time at this restaurant. I’ve heard great things about the food so I decided to finally give them a try. My waiter seemed a bit SLOW or hard of comprehending. I ordered the passion fruit juice I informed her I didn’t like it. She kept pressing me on why I didn’t like it and give her one reason why I didn’t like it. If I don’t like something I don’t like it. My appetizer took forever to come out , along with my food. I arrived there at 2:40 pm my food didn’t come out until 4:00 pm , the place was NOT PACKED, so I couldn’t understand what took so long. When she finally decided to bring my food out it was PARTIAL of my food which I declined. She informed me there was no red beans and rice so I got different rice but for my to go order I had rice and beans. I didn’t understand that. But whatever. I asked for plastic because the silverware was dirty. She informed me it would be $1, I said okay fine. It took almost 10 mins to bring me plastic. At this point I’m eating with my hands. Then when I finally did get the plastic she wasn’t the one that brung it. Every time I asked for something she kept saying ONE second and never came back in a timely matter but kept making sure the other table she was serving needs were met. I watched how she moved the entire time. My to go order came out the shrimp was so burnt. At this point I’m frustrated and just ready to go. There was no empathy with my concerns I had far as the terrible service I received. OVERALL my food was amazing but I don’t think I will be returning for DINE IN. And her appearance made me not even want my food. White stuff all around her mouth and sores as if she was having an outbreak. Kept pulling her pants up because they were to big. I decided to try out this place since a lot of people did hype this place up that the food is great. However to my surprise the service was so terrible. The worst service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. It was a nightmare. I say this because I had a reservation for 2:15pm I got there at 2:10 and my table wasn't available, it actually was given to someone else so I was forced to sit at the bar. There is no proper structure the host is also the bartender and also the server and also helping to manage the take out orders at this point she probably was the cook as well. At the bar I had to wait 40mins before I was given a bottled water. I wasn't served food until 4pm!!! And that's because I had to put pressure on them saying I will be leaving. I honestly should of left a long time ago it's just that I wouldn't actually think it would take 2 hours to get some food and they kept reassuring us the food is coming each time but in reality the food was no where ready. Also the store was packed with people also waiting on their take out food waiting hours as well. I never in my life had to wait 2 hours for food at a restaurant. Yes the food was amazing but what good is the food tasting good if the service is so bad. I can go elsewhere that also have great food that provides me amazing service. I normally dont write bad reviews but I had to in hopes for the future the owner can find ways to better improve the quality of service.
