BUYERS BEWARE!!! Absolute worst customer service I've ever seen in a pawn shop and that is an understatement. I buy music equipment weekly in the Tri-County area and was recommended to try this place out. They do have a couple of nice older grooveboxes and drum machines. I saw one in particular that caught my eye. I asked the "associate" about the lowest price and he proceeded to tell me that the price is negotiable and to make an offer. I then asked if he could plug it up so we can check it out and ensure that everything is in working condition prior to making an offer. The "associate" refused and says that we must come to an agreement on the offer first. How is someone supposed to make an offer on something that they're not sure if it works or not? Im sure the cords are right behind the counter and it would have taken less than 30 seconds to plug it in really quick to be checked. Then he tells me that "we don't just plug up stuff for no reason". So is a potential sale not the ultimate reason? The only reason why you're getting paid to stand around? I walked in with intentions on spending a fair amount on a good drum machine at this place but after this level of incompetence I will surely pass on "People's Pawn" forever and take my money elsewhere. Coming from someone who owns a business that deals directly with the public, that was one of the worst displays of customer service I have ever seen. That associate needs to be fired or atleast retrained. If that was my business and a stunt like this made me lose out on a multi hundred dollar sale he would have been on the other side of the door. Avoid this place at all costs. Check out Kings Pawn about a mile South of here. Went there immediately after and the customer service level was a night and...
Read moreTruly poor customer service. Stopped by and was checking out a Takamine 12 String acoustic electric on the wall for $599. Coming off the wall, the guitar was completely out of tune (not unusual) and buzzed from 5th fret up on the high b and e strings. In other words, completely unplayable. Started to tune it and got scolded for not using a tuner. Ok, I start using the tuner app on my phone. Work from high to low using the tuner. Each time I got close, the neck would shift and throw it out of tune again. After 6 minutes, finding tuners that won't hold, the wrong string on the second low E, and still with the guitar in my hand, this arrogant clerk says that's enough, takes the guitar out of my hand and puts it back on the wall. Might have turned out to be a playable guitar, or something that could work out well if set up properly, but I will never know because of a rude, condescending, arrogant clerk with zero people skills. I personally have repaired hundreds of guitars over the years, for novices and professionals alike. I spent years managing musical instrument shops. In my 40 plus years in sales and sales management I have never treated anyone the way this person treated my. I have, however, had to let people go for acting the way he did. If you run this business, you can check the camera from today around 12:20 PM to see which clerk it was, and address this accordingly. One star is too much, and if this is how employees are permitted to treat customers, I understand why the parking lot is empty. Rule one selling a guitar. People buy sound, not looks. If you don't want to take the time to have an instrument playable coming off the wall, don't take in guitars. If you are the person paying this employee, take note that he just cost your business...
