If you’re craving an authentic shawarma experience, Zaatar in Hallandale Beach is a must-visit. This hidden gem offers a menu filled with flavorful Middle Eastern specialties, with shawarma taking center stage. From the moment you walk in, the inviting atmosphere and the aroma of freshly grilled meats set the tone for a fantastic meal. The highlight of my visit was a chef-recommended dish, and it did not disappoint. The balance of flavors was exceptional, with perfectly seasoned meat paired beautifully with fresh ingredients. Every bite offered a harmonious blend of spices and textures, leaving a lasting impression. The chef’s skill in combining proteins with the right mix of accompaniments was spot on, and it’s clear that the quality of each component is a top priority. I’ll definitely be making Zaatar a regular stop whenever I’m in the area. Whether you’re a shawarma enthusiast or a first-timer, this spot promises a memorable and satisfying meal. Rating: 5/5

The Falafels are awesome, I ordered the falafel wrap combo, it came with fries and a can of soda for $9.99 and from 11 am - 3 pm the falafel wrap is $5.99!! The wrap is HUGE see the picture I added. Their Spicy Paste is great, we always get a side to take home with us YUM. You can add anything you want inside the wrap, I asked for hummus, babaganoush, olives, pickles, lettuce, tomato, pickled radish and tahini, they loaded that baby up. The place is small, but clean and very bright, lots of windows. The bathroom was clean and the customer service is great. I docked it 1 star only because of the fries, they are good, my husband loved them, but they are plain and remind me of the fries I used to get at the cafeteria in high school. Nothing wrong with them, there’s just nothing special about them. The staff is friendly and they always get the order correct! If you like Lebanese fast food, this is the place for you.

Zaatar is a hidden gem! The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The salad bar was spotless and well-stocked exactly how a busy restaurant should operate. As someone with over 12 years in the industry, I know salad stations are never covered because staff don’t have time to open and close lids every few seconds. It was clean, fresh, and definitely not how one unfair review described it. The chicken shawarma was flavorful and fresh off the pit, and their spicy sauce added the perfect kick. The prices are also very reasonable, making it a great value. The only small thing I personally didn’t love was the fat on the chicken, I prefer to trim and prep mine before marinating. But overall, the food was delicious, and I’d definitely come back. Highly recommend if you’re in Miami and craving authentic Middle Eastern flavors!

Staff very slow even though we were the only customers in the restaurant. We had a total of 5 people in our group. Everyone’s food came out at such different times that some were completely done eating before others had their food.

I ordered the lamb shawarma. It was very large chunks and chewy. Not good quality meat. The wrap was too dry from being on the warmer too long is my guess.

One person in our group found a hair in their falafel plate. Ok yes it happens but this did not add to our experience. Two people ordered glasses of water. There were literally things floating in the water. Either from a dirty cup or the filtration of the water was not clean.

But to top off all of the above. As we are eating our food, the male and female worker behind the counter were tearing off chunks of the bread and dipping straight into the hummus on the line and eating. No gloves, no putting it onto a separate plate. Straight from the line where they serve customers. As I’m looking at them in awe they both take another bite and then head to the back.

I was beyond disgusted and will not...

We are very lucky that we only ordered 3 wraps and not waste any more money, in fact ,those 3 wraps alone where more than enough to make us never want to come back again. Secondly we did not ask for the wraps to be cut in half until after they had already been prepared, which means the taste that we were missing was missing on your behalf, seeing as though YOU DID NOT make the wrap "FULL" Third of all , you did the correct thing by not charging us for the 1/2 tsp. tahini sauce(which u assumed 6 people could share), which we had to ask for on the side ,that was supposed to be "inside" of the wrap. And lastly, any "authentic " shawarma establishment should know to serve the bread warm. With that being said, the response which you have given me was very unprofessional and quite frankly very rude. These reviews are meant to be helpful to the public and also for you to make sure you are running a proper business and not running people away. I am sorry to hear that you are lacking in customer service skills. Hoping you can improve your...

Not good Lebanese food, but ok Mediterranean food. I wanted this place to be good and was hoping to leave a 5-star review to support this local business; however, the two employees working had ZERO pride in what they were doing. I overheard them turning a customer away in Spanish saying that they don’t have a menu item. The customer walked away in disbelief after asking twice and pointing to a chicken kabob plate.

We ordered a few dishes for a family of 5 and they told me when it was ready, expecting me to pick up from over the counter even though they could barely extend out far enough to give me each of the 8 different plates/bowls one-by-one. I had to go up and ask for plates to eat on, plastic ware, and napkins. Imagine what it would be like to see someone who is just there to collect a pay check and is bothered that you are making them do their job. The owner should fix this ASAP and I’m sure the food would be better also. CRAZY how much bad employees can bring down the entire experience when going to a sit...
