I came to check this place because I saw some of the reviews and they were very good! Definitely all the reviews were right on the money; this restaurant has amazing food choices and everything on their menu shows a very good variety of authentic Spanish dishes. The staff members are very friendly and if you have questions about the menu they will take the time to explain it to you and make sure you will get your order ready and accurate. If you want to pay with debit card please make sure you spend more than six dollars. But if you just want to drink a small Cuban coffee make sure you bring cash to make it easy for you and for them. The decorations and the overall presentation of this restaurant it’s ok, nothing special or fancy looks. As a local Google guide I feel the responsibility to talk about restaurants like “La Guajira” because this kind of places remind us of our culture and bring us back to help us remember our delicious authentic meals and for us to have a place like this give us the opportunity to bring our children that were born here and don’t know firsthand our food and culture but now when we come to have a family meal here, our children get to taste our delicious Spanish dishes without leaving the comfort of our new amazing country. I invite all my Spanish people to come here to get the same great experience I had and to everyone else to come as well and experience firsthand how great the...
Read moreWhat a pleasant find. I love mom and pop places, and I couldn't be happier I found this gem! They have been there for 12 years.
We started with drinks - the house made lemonade was sweet and tangy and the guanabana (soursop) shake was just they way I like, I appreciate that it could be made without sugar, yum. There was left over shake in the blender, and the staff was sweet to give me a whole cup full of it on my way out free of charge.
The meals ordered - a pan con bistec (steak sandwich), on media noche with mustard, another customization option I really appreciated. The steak was thin, yet filling and flavorful, plus the potato sticks brought that nostalgic crunchy goodness to the sandwich. 9/10
A vaca frita with congri and tostones - the Vaca frita wasn't that crispy but the flavor was spot on and the portion was decent. The congri was fantastic. The tostones were fresh crunchy and even better with the mojo dripped on it. 9/10
A palomilla steak with congri and yucca hervida. The steak was covered with lovely caramelized onions which had such good flavor. The congri again was absolutely delicious and the yucca was expertly executed, it was tender and flavorful. The mojo sauce was just so good. 9/10
The staff was incredibly attentive, pleasant and polite.
Would absolutely recommend and keep coming back when in South Broward. Worth a visit to support this mom and pop...
