My daughter and I decided to take my son-in-law to a place where they have real Italian food. My grandparents came from Sicily and this restaurant is noted for the Sicilian cooking. I had gone there about 25 years ago with a bunch of people, and went back several times after. I haven't been there in a long time. When we got there one of the owners greeted Us by the door. His name is Giuseppe and he was absolutely friendly and classy at making us feel right at home. I had remembered how delicious the food was and was truly hoping that it was just as good so we can impress my son-in-law. Well it was better, which I thought could never happen. The place is beautiful inside, and very homie and Elegant at the same time. When we questioned Giuseppe if there was certain things on the menu he told us not to worry because if it wasn't there they would make it for us. We started out with pasta fagioli, a stuffed artichoke, which was just like my grandmother made, and seafood appetizer. I the seafood appetizer came to us in a spaghetti Bowl which was spaghetti intertwined and deep-fried and then loaded with shrimps and the most delicious scallops I have ever eaten and calamari and just delicious. The shrimps were huge the calamari was tender and the scallops were so big, yet so tender. I could still taste them when I think about it. My daughter had eggplant parmesan with a side of spaghetti. She was not disappointed because it is one of her favorite foods. Portions are huge and plated like a piece of art. When the food comes to the table the way it's plated it looks too beautiful to eat . My son-in-law had a rack of lamb and it was not only beautiful to look at but delicious to eat. My grandson had spaghetti and meatballs which came in a very large plate with the meatballs going all around the outside. He ate the whole thing LOL I ordered the seafood platter which came with humongous shrimps, calamari, Squid and muscles and clams which decorated the outside of a very large plate. The tasty delicious Seafood sauce was seasoned to perfection. It was over linguine, enough for three people. My son-in-law drank beer and I had a drink called. a "blood orange margarita" ( delicious and definitely not stingy with the alcohol). Then came a favorite part of the meal.. Desert. My daughter ordered a deconstructed tiramisu which was absolutely delicious and plentiful. My son-in-law and I both ordered a very flaky cake with layers of Italian cream and strawberries. I ate slowly because I didn't want it to go away LOL. All three deserts were amazing and my grandson got vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and whipped cream, his own little Sunday. To finish the meal we had expresso which was really good and not the tiny little cup they give you when you go to other restaurants. The service was very attentive and we were never left without water and the refills of the homemade garlic toast. They put something called carbonada which is an eggplant mixture with tomato sauce, (homemade I might add) on the table. As you can tell, We truly enjoyed our dinner. My son-in-law was definitely impressed by the entire experience. I would like to send a special thank you out to Giuseppe and his wonderful staff for giving us a night that we won't forget! Read moreJune 24th- As a native of Chester Springs, PA, I'm spoiled by great Italian cuisine and ambiance. When I moved to Florida, I was thrilled to discover Cappricio in Pembroke Pines. I've visited about 10-12 times since my first visit, mostly sitting at the bar area since I dine alone and it's a nice way get to mingle with others. What I love most is the welcoming atmosphere, thanks to the talented pianist who plays and sings with finesse. His renditions of classic songs are impressive, and he never sacrifices the original essence of the music.
The food is equally impressive, with every dish I've tried exceeding my expectations. The presentation is not only visually stunning, but also tantalizing to the taste buds. From a variety of dishes, I can attest that each one is consistently delicious and satisfying.
The bartender is a standout person, with a charming personality and who is exceptional with his attention to details. He's knowledgeable about various subjects and keeps his patrons engaged, making every visit feel like a treat. The waitstaff is also professional, polite and very attentive, ensuring a seamless dining experience.
With the pianist performing on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the staff, and regular patrons all contributing to the warm atmosphere, I can confidently say that Cappricio won't disappoint. Whether you're looking for a beautiful fine dining experience, or your a foodie like myself, or simply looking for a great spot to relax and meet other like-minded patrones, then this Italian gem is a must-visit in Pembroke Pines. Say cheers on my behalf if you found this place aa delightful as I have.
Nov- 2023 My second time there. First time I went, I met some really cool local people frequent the restaurant regularly, they shared how much they love going there and how many years they been going. Had such a nice time the first time I decided to go again. And again, I met more local regulars, and everyone made me feel so welcomed. There is a live pianist who is amazing, the both times went was on a Saturday. And he was playing. I'm not sure all they days he is there. If I had to guess, probably Fri and Sat. But you'll need to confirm that with the restaurant. The food was amazing as well. I was at the bar area...were I prefer to be since I normally dine solo, this way I get to mingle with others around me. Definitely a place to wine and dine your partner, or if you are like me, wine and dine...
Read moreI went to the restaurant for a group event and was seated in the banquet room and sadly I wasn't impressed and disappointed. The waiters that night were not very friendly and rather impatient taking our orders, as well as describing the meal options being offered. I explained to the gentleman taking my order that I had specific food allergies ( No wine, vinegars, nuts). The first dish I got answers, however as the meal progressed the questions about ingredients stopped being answered. So I began to not eat dishes if I couldn't determine what was in it, by either smelling it or my friends tasting the dish. Sadly I missed out on several dishes. Throughout the night we would ask for refill on drinks, extra napkins, creamer for our coffee etc and was told to wait, but sadly we never got the items we requested. My steak wasn't cooked properly, it was under seasoned and tough. I ordered it medium rare and it was a lot of gristle and really special in the middle. I did like the roasted potato and broccoli. The filling in the ravioli was extremely sweet and I couldn't tell what was in it, and the waiter never divulged the ingredient either. My son had a lobster dish that was over cooked and not well seasoned.
The Tiramisu was a bit odd looking, as we thought it was ice cream, because it was round like a scoop of ice cream. It had an odd texture and I asked repeatedly did it have nuts. It took the waiter a while to come back and say no. However my son tasted it and said there was crushed nuts in the dish. I am so glad I didn't eat it, because my throat would have swelled shut. I caution those with food allergies to be alert while eating here.
Some positive things I could say about the restaurant was the decor was beautiful. Also the hostess was nice as she directed me through another door to make it easier for me to access the room in my wheelchair. It was easy to navigate around the banquet room during the event. We were also greeted by a very nice rooster that was perched outside the door.
I was visiting from out of town and I was looking forward to eating here after reading many positive reviews from other guest. The only explanation I could think of perhaps it was an off night for the kitchen/staff to explain...
