I usually come here each time I visit down here but for some reason, this morning the woman was very inhospitable. I said “Good morning” to her as she walked out from the back from what was seemingly a conversation I interrupted by entering the business to make a purchase. She didn’t greet me at all & looked at me crazy when I said “good morning.” She asked me how many donuts I wanted & I told her one. I started my order with asking for an apple fritter & then she rudely asked if that was it. Now if my answer to how many donuts I wanted was “one donut” & I began my order by asking for an apple fritter, then why follow up with “is that it?” when I haven’t even given you my donut order yet. The last time I checked, a donut & an apple fritter are not the same thing. One is a donut, one isn’t & if I told her I wanted a donut then give me the opportunity to choose one before rudely trying to rush me out of the store. I told her you know what? Nevermind! I don’t do rude nor spend my money where it is not welcomed. She tried to start explaining at that point to which I informed her of her impoliteness & I left. Her energy was off from the moment she laid eyes on me yet in still I was willing to make a purchase anyway because of how much I was looking forward to the purchase.
As a card carrying FHIA member, this type of treatment at seven something in the morning was completely unnecessary! It pays to be friendly & patient with customers and this woman didn’t give that. Maybe I’ll try again on my next visit to S. Florida & when they put a more customer friendly cashier out front. Bring the other lady back who used to be out front because this one you had working the Sunday after Thanksgiving wasn’t it. I have been coming here for many years & as I sit in my car to write this directly after this experience, I’m deeply...
Read moreHad the opportunity to finally try their donuts while at a concert earlier. Paid $4.50 for a Salted Caramel Cheesecake donut (2-pack for $9). Outrageously expensive, but I have not gone to buy anything baked in quite a long while from anyone other than the neighborhood abuelitas.
My review on the donut is that it was simply way too sweet. Instead of just the caramel being salted, the entire middle (filling area) was salted. That threw me off hard. The entire donut is also just encrusted in sugar crystals, which made my hands sticky. It was basically just your standard churro dough. The donut dough itself did not taste particularly good, as I've had many a churro in my day. Not an ideal stadium set up going at all. So, in all honesty, the donut was about a 2/5.
I've been burned on people hyping a place up before, so I cut my losses and moved on. I left my concert a while after I ate it, having felt uneasy and queasy. Turns out, the donut gave me food poisoning and I threw up multiple times within the span of two hours trying to make my way back home. I cannot say I've ever vomited pure bile before, as my stomach has never had to completely purge itself. Not only that, but I also had to make a run to the bathroom for the other end.
My lesson here is to never buy from Mojo Donuts again. They should've known better than to send OLD donuts to sit around for several hours. Again, I caught them and picked up the donut at the start of the show, so they should've been 2 hours old at the latest, as both the arena and a Mojo location is in Miami, FL. Instead, I got a donut that made me feel like I had died. Not exactly the transcendent experience I was looking for.

Read moreTheir donuts are 5 star for sure. They actually make my favorite donut from anywhere, although they don’t seem to make them often which is why I’m not a regular customer. Their red velvet cake donut is second to no donut anywhere I’ve ever been. I wish these were there more often. Their donuts are pretty much all yeast donuts which are great, don’t get me wrong, but the red velvet cake donuts are what WOULD draw me to make the 30 minute drive regularly on a Saturday morning. I wish they would incorporate more cake donuts like their red velvet, pumpkin maple walnut, and vanilla cake which I’ve been waiting to try since I missed it.
Apple fritters are one of the better ones I’ve tried. Maple bacon donuts are really good also.
My only complaint about their donuts is that they have a few standard ones, all yeast, but overall it is hit and miss as they make whatever the chef wants to make so what you liked may not be there next time. I like to know I’ll get my favorites and maybe try something new. I now call before to see if they have my favorite donut (red velvet cake) and if they do, I’ll make the trip. Normally I hear no, sorry. When I ask if they have any other cake donut, sometimes it’s a yes, but one, or no, not today.
Owners if you’re reading this, your donuts and apple fritters are 10/10, but your cake donuts, especially the red velvet are 20/10. Please consider making those most often and more options than 1 on any given day. This would make me more of a weekend regular rather than a rare occasion customer having to call every weekend to see if you have red velvet cake donuts or any kind of cake donut for...
