I would love to give this place a great rating as we have frequented it over the last several years and really love their food. Unfortunately, the last 2-3 times we have been there on a Saturday morning the food service has been very slow, which is ok; weโve never had a problem waiting since the food was good and the staff was friendly. But today we waited 40 minutes for our breakfast to finally be told that our order had been lost and was never entered into the computer. It was 10:40 so they had just switched to the lunch menu 10 minutes before and said they couldnโt put our breakfast order back in, despite the fact that they were still serving breakfast dishes to tables that ordered after us. Iโll give them credit that they did offer us lunch if we wanted (which we didnโt since it was so early) and gave us a free pastry from the bakery side. It was just extremely frustrating to wait that long and then not be able to get a simple French toast and breakfast sandwich order because of a 10 minute difference in breakfast and lunch menu times and a staff error. Unfortunately, this is a restaurant we have frequented but Iโm not sure we will be returning...

This small-town cafe with adjoining bakery is a fine place for breakfast. We arrived on a rainy Friday morning and were warmly welcomed. The variety of coffee offerings was surprisingly broad and we received our drinks promptly.
I ordered the French toast meal and had plenty of food. The toast was thick and nicely textured. Hubby had the Asiago cheese and spinach quiche and wasn't very impressed with the size of the serving or the taste (not much flavor).
The speed of service was amazingly quick and we enjoyed a good amount of follow up attention which kept our cups filled. Costs were very reasonable and we enjoyed the murals on the dining room walls.
Parking is limited (the shop is on the main square) but it's worth it to park down the street and walk up. The bakery has huge servings of a variety of cake, cookies and pastries. We didn't buy anything there on this trip but will consider another time. We will definitely add this locale to our...

Pendleton's "Main" Street: The Village Green is anchored by the Farmers' Society Hall and shops like The Village Bakery & Cafe. The bakery is quaint and nostalgic with excellent offerings and the cafe has adequate seating and many different sized tables.
The Menu/Food We stopped by for lunch on a Friday. There were at least 15 sandwiches to choose from on the menu. I chose the Reuben - Cornedโ beef and sauerkraut on hearty rye. The Reuben and fries were both very good and the portion size just right. Overall our eating experience was excellent. I plan on taking in Sunday brunch as it was highly recommended by all.
The Service/Value The prices were fair for the value presented. Our server was brand new but did a good job. The only reason we new she was new... she told us. The manager and staff were all friendly. Nice small town place to eat. Highly recommend...
