From the moment we arrived at Liberty Hall Bed & Breakfast, we felt wrapped in Southern charm and genuine hospitality.
Room #1, “The Bridal Veil.”
Located on the first floor, The Bridal Veil offers a king-size bed dressed in luxurious linens that practically invite you to sink in for the night. The room is thoughtfully arranged with a two-chair dinette, a comfortable love seat, and a classic armoire for storage. Large windows allow natural light to pour in, and a private door opens directly onto the side porch, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.
The private bathroom includes a spotless shower, fresh towels, and high-quality bath products. In-room amenities add even more convenience: a flat-screen TV with internet access, Wi-Fi, a coffee maker, and even a sound machine for those who want to drift off in complete serenity. The little details—like the careful placement of the love seat for reading and the easy access to the porch—made the space feel both functional and indulgent.
Breakfast each morning was a highlight, served in the elegant dining room. Our favorite was the apple french toast with a side of fresh fruit parfait, paired with rich, locally roasted coffee. Between meals, we enjoyed complimentary snacks and drinks in the parlor, as well as the peaceful ambience of the inn’s historic common spaces.
What truly sets Liberty Hall apart is the way history and comfort intertwine. From the polished original hardwood floors to the curated décor and framed vintage photographs, every detail reflects the inn’s character. The innkeepers, Andy & Devon Rymer and Angela & Michael Chunka went above and beyond with recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and hidden spots only a local would know.
If you want a stay that combines elegance, history, and modern comfort, The Bridal Veil at Liberty Hall Bed & Breakfast is the perfect choice. It’s more than just a room—it’s an experience you’ll...
Read moreMike and Angela are the sweetest most welcoming hosts you will find. Starting from the check-in process, all the way to getting into our room, Angela ensured that we were taken care of. Mike is an excellent chef, who has honed in on his craft by bringing to the table timeless recipes passed down from his mother.
The B&B has undergone a couple transformations and remodeling since it's early 1840 days, but Mike and Angela have made every effort to maintain the historical charm of the house, which offers 10 bedrooms, 2 massive decks where you can sit and enjoy a calm evening, a front porch and a balcony with rockers, ample parking space, a dining, living, and standing rooms. My wife and I did not get a chance to book one of the larger rooms due to occupancy being at its peak for the Clemson University Family Day, but the truth is, none of that mattered as Mike and Angela more than made up for it with their conversations and attention to detail - truth is, we were out for most of the day anyway.
The place is kept in immaculate condition. Every single common area is sparkling clean, the property is well maintained, and EVERY SINGLE guest was also very cortious and respectful - we even made some new friends!
We really appreciated that the B&B was within walking distance (10 minutes or 1/3 of a mile) from the Pendleton Square which offers numerous food choices. It was nice not to have to drive to dinner.

Read moreWe have just returned from a week-long visit through North and South Carolina to visit with family near Clemson, SC. My wife grew up in the area, and she and her family were all familiar with Liberty Hall and its history and place in the Pendelton community. During our travels, we stayed in various hotels across the price, quality and style spectrum. Our stay at Liberty Hall was the highlight by some margin. On arrival, the owners greeted us personally and instantly felt welcome. Our room had bags of character and charm and had all the conveniences and functionality that travel today requires. Breakfast (included in our rate) was top-class. I should have informed the staff of a food allergy before our arrival. Despite my mistake, an alternative was graciously offered without any stress or fuss. Overall, our two nights at the hotel were comfortable, relaxed, enjoyable, personal and memorable for all the right reasons. We most certainly will book again. I'd recommend booking well in advance as this beautiful home has a limited number of rooms. Its proximity to Clemson and the university will likely mean this fantastic property will be in high demand. We wish the new owners all the very best in their plans to evolve and enhance what is already a charming bed and breakfast hotel. We will most certainly be...
