After looking them up on Google, it was between them and another restaurant near by. My friend and I decided to go to Genovas in Hanover because their website read that they close at 10. That would give us time. So we thought. We got there ordered our food at 8:20PM. There was a feeling of attitude from the girl taking the order, which we found out later was the manager. While eating our food, they started pulling up chairs and mopping around us.This was like around 8:40. I asked my friend if he was sure they close at 10. So I asked the girl mopping around 9:50, are you all getting ready to close? She said yes, but you're fine. So then the manager starts getting irritated and let's us know they were closing , do you want take out boxes. I had a couple bites left of my sub. At that point I felt like I couldn't finish two stinking bites feeling like i had to cram my food down my throat, cause she couldn't wait and giving us the rush act out the door. I tossed my sub in the tray went to the restroom to wash my hands. I'm surprised they let me do that. My friend tried to get a refill and they already turned off the soda machine. The manager told the employee leave it off. I came back out of the bathroom and told the so called manager that they need to change the website time that they close at 9 instead of 10 and that they should have told us when they were taking our order . She and the girl cleaning said that they did which was a lie. Then she started talking over me getting louder, Good night sir, have good night sir. For being a manager she has no idea what customer service was. It was only 9:02 and she couldn't wait a couple more minutes for me to finish two bites. She also informed me that they wanted to go home just like I want to. So in other words, her only concern was getting out of there and going home. Never mind over 45 dollars was spent there. Very poor customer service. That says to me poor work ethic and no care for the customer only about herself. I don't believe the customer is always right. But I don't think letting me finish my meal for a few more minutes was...
Read moreALWAYS reliable! On time, great quality and generous toppings on pizza as well as generous meat and such on subs. They bake their own bread which makes everything that much better! Their pastas are completely customizable. My personal favorite of the pastas is the chicken fettuccine Alfredo with mushrooms. Customer service is always courteous and helpful on the phone. The drivers are always on point and they always meet special requests. Sometimes I have kids sleeping so they call when they arrive in order to not make my dogs bark and wake up any little ones. I order from them a lot so the one time a driver mixed up my order with another customer wasn't really a big deal. They couldn't take the food back so our family and the other customer got to keep the wrong order while they very quickly rushed out the correct order.
Customer satisfaction and loyalty is important to them. If you are not happy with the way your food arrives, they act very quickly to assure that you are 100% satisfied.
They are also very good to loyal customers. Every year I get a Christmas card from them. Depending on the amount of money I have spent with them throughout the year, I receive gift cards within that Christmas card. I am a loyal customer who orders regularly and sometimes I have very large orders. The past few years I have received $100 worth of $25 gift cards in my Christmas card from them. What other business do you know, especially locally, who shows such appreciation to their customers? They definitely know how to keep us...
Read moreIt's called "Genova's To Go" but there is actually a nice sized dining room as well. Went here in person for the first time tonight and was rather impressed at the size and niceness of the dining room. If you want to eat at the restaurant you order at the counter, you're given a number, and then they bring the food to your table.
I've gotten delivery from here a few times since moving to South Hanover. The buffalo chicken pizza is very good and much more cheesy than other buffalo chicken pizzas I have had (which I like). I also frequently get the greek salad with fat free Italian and it's delicious. I'm slowly trying other things on the menu besides my normal salad and pizza. The one time I got the mild buffalo wings I was a little disappointed because they had a hint of sweetness and were not vinegary enough for my taste, I really like the old fashioned bitey wings that wreck your mouth after you down 20+ of them on a binge. I was also disappointed in the size of their tuna wrap. Considering the prices at this place I expected a bigger wrap.
Typically I will spend about $40 to $50 here for an order for two people, so it is definitely on the expensive side as pizza and sub places in Hanover go. Overall though I am definitely pleased with the food we get from here and delivery times have been pretty good. I certainly recommend giving this...
