Very disappointed with Miguelina’s bakery. I’ve been a big fan for the past 14 years, even got my quinceañera cake from here 12 years ago! That’s the reason why I’m not giving it 1 star.
I ordered a cake for my sister’s bridal shower and when it was time to make the payment over the phone, their machine wasn’t working. Regardless, they confirmed that my order was reserved and all set. I tried calling 5 times the day before remembering I never made a payment and wanted to make sure sure all was okay. No answer. Day off, I call and they tell me my cake was not made because I didn’t make a deposit on it. It was all due to lack of communication on their part. If they would’ve told me that without this payment I wasn’t confirmed, I would’ve been more persistent on making sure it got made. Regardless, it was their machine that wasn’t working and they should’ve been following up with me! I didn’t think I had anything to worry about. What made me more upset was that when I was explaining what happened to them, they kept making excuses and didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience, when I was just trying to give feedback so this didn’t happen to another customer. I’m just disappointed and I wouldn’t have expected this from a bakery that was really...
Read moreUNPROFESSIONAL, DO NOT GO HERE. My sister ordered a two-tiered tres leches cake for my nieces first birthday a month and a half in advance of her birthday. As most of us know, tres leches cakes are VERY moist and delicate and should be refrigerated for at least a day to harden a little unless the cake can easily fall apart. The cake was picked up the day of the party and it came destroyed from the car ride. As smooth and as slow as the car ride was, the cake STILL fell apart. Why? Because the cake was two-tiered and came in ONE box instead of two. The bottom tier could not support the top tier at all because it was probably made that same day or made way too watery. The box was clearly not big enough since the top of the box touched the top of the cake. She clearly set this cake up for disaster, but when my sister, ready to cry that her daughters birthday cake is ruined, calls, they blame us! Saying that its not their problem and that we weren't careful enough. How can anyone expect a two tiered tres leche cake to hold together in one small box? The logical thing to do would have been to give the seperate tiers in seperate boxes instead of squeezing it into the one barely big enough for the cake. If you want to waste money on a half-assed...
Read moreIn the middle of September I pre-order a two tiered tres leches cake for my daughter's first birthday party, I paid in full at the time the order was placed. When my mother in law went to pick it up on the day of the party what arrived was a horrible sight. The box the two tier cake came in was so small that the lid touched The top of the cake the logical thing would have been to place each tier in a different box, what supported the top tier were 3 pvc pipes that weren't even in size, the cake was still warm which meant that they baked it last minute and anyone that knows a about tres leches cake know that they have to be baked a day in advance to allow to cool otherwise it will fall apart. When I called to complain they had the nerve to blame us saying " we hand the customer a perfect cake what ever they do from the shop to wherever they're going is not our problem" on top of everything they were charging my mother in law $84 for a cake that was already paid for . Horrible horrible execution they take no pride in their work whatsoever if you want a jacked up cake be my guest and come here but if you want a great cake I suggest you take your business to a more...
