Don Juan Mex Grill — Restaurant in Pennsylvania

When we moved from Allentown to Zionsville we found Don Juan’s bc we were looking for a closer version of Cali Burrito. I will say the restaurants are not the same. Don Juan’s does have tasty food. Their smoothies are to die for!!!!! It’s hard to come up for air! Favorite is the banana extra with berries added! OMG! Amazing! Huge portions on the burrito bowls and burritos! My husband loves the steak tacos bravos style! What I will say is that we have had a few service issues in the past at the emmaus location (take out orders taking longer then 45min for our food when it said it would be ready in half that time (waiting that long with 2 kids 2/4yo is forever when they are hungry) online order glitches (when I added 1 item it added 2, when I tried to correct it them deleted both and I didn’t get what I ordered) difficultly applying coupons) but each time they have tried to make thing right! We had an online order issue yesterday and Marco was amazing and fixed everything! On another note, I wish they had a better food selection for kids, and I do think the pricing for the empanadas is high for 1, wish there were 2 in an order. I hope the emmaus location can fix their service issues or online ordering because we love the food. We recently ate on the patio of the Macungie location and the food was very good. Service was great! Drinks came fast, kids food was good. We will definitely be returning to the Macungie location...

Honestly eaten here a handful of times to judge an establishment. Food is extremely mediocre, with a price tag. Everything tastes like you could have made it in your kitchen with low grade ingredients. We recently ordered a bowl, and three tacos with chips. We loved the customization of all of the toppings you could add! We were not given salsa in bowls or with chips, the bowl had little to no meat in and was packed with white rice..never a good look! My carne asade steak was an upcharge, and tasted so salty and processed like it was jerky. Of course you try to call to make things right and there’s no way of getting a hold of anyone in the shop working. For the price we spent, we will be taking our money to chipotle or cali burrito. I used to love this place, but after the past 6 times I’ve only had my order correct once… I order the same thing every time, One cheese beef empanada, which is always correct, but when I order my two soft flour shell, beef, cheese, lettuce tacos they always come with the chipotle sauce, which I don’t order because I don’t like it. Tonight took the cake for me, I had a rough day and was in the area so I thought, “hey why don’t I get something to eat at Don Juan?” When I drove home and sat down to eat and opened my container to see my tacos drenched in a sauce I despise, i was just in shock. I mean I hate to complain because I know that working in food is difficult, but is there a excuse for this??
