I grew up eating wonder dogs at velvet freeze so I was so excited when my coworker told me about this restaurant. Today was my second visit. I am very disappointed with the service I received today. On my first visit my wonder dogs were delicious over flowing with meat sauce, which is the reason you get them. But, the lady who gave me my order was not very friendly. She asked other customers if they needed ketchup etc. She never asked me. She just sat my order on the counter with no thank you not even a smile. I ignored it and gave her the benefit of the doubt. However, today I felt like she didn’t want my business. My wonder dogs were terrible. The hot dogs, all 6 beef btw, were undercooked with more onions than meat sauce. Once again she called my name and just sat my order on the counter and walked away. There were other bags on the counter. I wanted to make sure I was grabbing the right one. I asked her if that was my order. She very rudely said yes. It’s obvious she has a problem with people of color and definitely do not want our business. I don’t care if I’m craving wonder dogs I will never return. I’ll spend my hard earned...

I always get the same dog: cheese, onions, mustard, and of course, the chili. I could seriously eat about ten in one sitting. And in the last thirty four years since I've been eating them, the recipe has remained delicious.
The only issue I have is the buns have gotten a bit soggy, but I don't mind that, sometimes. I think they still use Dubuque hotdogs, which I can't seem to find anywhere. And recently, I tried the tenderloin sandwich for the first time and yes, it's amazing.
Now that I've groen up and moved to Chicago, I try to go once every couple of months. And even though I get food for just me and my love, I still manage to spend over 40 dollars on dogs for there, the road, and leftovers for home. I just hope that just once they'll give me a tub of the...
Read moreI don't know what their thinking but half a dozen dogs for almost $10.00 is highway robbery. In the old days the buns were steamed, the hot dogs were steamed and created right in front of you, not in the back of some dim lit kitchen. I don't know what was wrong with the fries but you talk about putting tasteless grease in your mouth and you have come to the right place. Shame on you for bringing back a local eatery that was great to visit at least once a week and making the old standard taste like crap while charging a arm and leg for them. I tired to visit the location in Bartonville for a quick dinner and guess what, they closed at 2. Well I guess the public told you what they thought of that because now that store is gone. Too bad you never put one in the Heights or Peoria proper but with the quality of this food, it might have been a good...
