I came in on 6/30/21 with my children after a family funeral. We ordered a taco, a drink, and 2 pick 2 combos (2 tuna poke, 1 drink, 1 Mac and cheese). The cashier was very obviously new and did not even know what the combo was or how to ring it up and had no help. She rang it in wrong over and over to the point where I gave up. Well, I thought she had it until I looked at the receipt. She did not know how to do a refund. Again, I had kids with me, had a long day, and still had to get back to the office. I said that I would get it fixed next time I’m in, since I come regularly.
I realize that the restaurant business has been a mess. If I wrote reviews, I could write so many bad ones right now- but they are primarily due to lack of knowledge and skills and are not intentional, so I get it- as long as people are doing their best, friendly, and respectful.
Well, I came in today (July 17th) and told the staff there about my experience on the 30th in hopes to fix it. I don’t feel super comfortable paying for items that I did not order or receive (1 side of Mac and cheese and 1 drink) as they were charged as part of the combos and then charged again. It was only $6 worth of items.
The cashier working said that she can’t do anything since I can’t prove that it actually happened! Ok, I can handle a hopefully new (and temporary) staff member being rude, but then the shift manager called the general manager to see how she should handle this. Apparently the general manager agreed with the cashier that nothing should be done since I don’t have proof and it was 14 days ago.
What is the receipt for? What is considered proof- would I have been expected to video the experience, get affidavits from my children and other patrons? Any, he or she stated that he will do nothing about the Mac and cheese, but I could have a free drink. Free drink? I paid for it. I had even left a tip because I had felt bad for the girl. I love the food, but I am appalled at the customer service. $6! Proof!
I will never go there again, nor will I recommend it, not will I order food for work, let me kids go there, etc.— I will never do business with someone with such horrible customer service with so many others working hard to stay afloat. Stepping over dollars to get to pennies-600...
Read moreWorked here for about a year and a half. Most menu changes we were made aware of about a week in advance, but hey, that's a restaurant.
What's out of the ordinary, even for a restaurant, is the sheer vulgarity on display by the Head Coach, Duane Davies. Duane had a number of sexual harrassment complaints on file, which were filed through the proper channels. Then, on the store owner's visit, the folks standing in solidarity with the abused coworkers were threatened, given lines like "I don't appreciate you playing with my livelyhood. This won't happen again, are we clear?"
I also have screenshots of the Head Coach, Duane, making light of the fact that a coworker reported him for harassing her. I also have a minimum of four coworkers who can back up the more vulgar things that were said out of my earshot, as well as near constant questionable racially charged statements, even after being warned about being political in the workplace.
For the love of christ, don't spend your money here. Top of the pay scale for "team members" is around 10 dollars an hour. CoreLife sells the salads you order for around 14 dollars. You do the math.
Oh, as a final nail in the coffin: My brother committed suicide on the First of January 2020. I was offered leave for about two weeks. Two weeks after I came back, my hours were cut "because of a downgrade in performance". I quit that day; mostly because I knew based on previous conversations with Duane that my mental health was not a...
Read moreI came for lunch on a Friday. Ordered the Spicy Thai Chicken and Rice Noodles large bowl for “here” which just meant they pushed it across the counter at checkout instead of putting a lid on it and putting it in a bag “to go”. No tray or special plate since it was “eat in”. Pretty simple: Order to go; you get a lid. Order for “here”; no lid. That’s the only difference. For a $15 bowl of food, they implied a tip should be made at checkout, which is insane. The checkout server worded it a way that was rude and made you feel bad if you didn’t tip for their less than average service. The Worst part and the only reason I write this one star review is; the food has NO SPICE whatsoever. I’m not huge into spicey food and even I my sensitive taste does not consider this spicey. It was a disgrace to Thai food and spicy food, in general. If you know anything about Thai food, you know that it is that it’s inherently spicy. Then CoreLife puts “Spicy” in the title on top of that and further emphasizes that it’s spicy in the description - so you expect legitimate spicy. None of that existed in my dish on that Friday afternoon. I’ll never go here again....
