We showed up around 2:00 this afternoon and was instantly met with garbage spilling out of the receptacles located to the right of the front door. Prior to ordering, i noticed that the store was mostly empty of people and I also noticed several tables in the main dining room that were dirty and had garbage still on them. Upon ordering, I noticed there were at least 5 employees behind the counter and 1 employee further back in the kitchen mopping the floor. I ordered our food, a 4 piece chicken nugget happy meal with BBQ sauce and chocolate milk and a quarter pounder w/cheese meal. As I went to prepare my tray with Ketchup and to fill my drink, I found the ketchup dispenser to be empty or broken and many ketchup cups scattered in the ketchup mess and garbage overflowing. I went to the counter to retrieve some ketchup packets and I was notified that my order (224) was ready. After sitting down in the children's play area, I realized that the chocolate milk was not on the tray. I went to the counter and asked for one. When my granddaughter started to get her happy meal ready to eat she told me that she didn't have her BBQ sauce for her chicken nuggets either. I went back to the counter again and retrieved her sauce. As I walked back in the play area there was an obvious 20° temperature difference from that in the main dining room. It was very warm in there. I also noticed that the play area had not been cleaned in quite some time as there was garbage and spills all over the floor. This was very disappointing as we typically visit this store every Wednesday as do a lot of parents with kids who have early release that day. Also, while placing my order I noticed 2 male employees trying to make a shake and the machine was clearly broken but they let the liquid drip and drip into the cup then served it in the drive thru. They both addressed each other in Spanish. To my right I saw an older male employee sitting at a table near the Entrance to the bathrooms. He had a laptop and appeared to be conducting an interview. Several of the employees were using their phones and standing still while customers were waiting for their food. It is not uncommon that I have asked on prior visits if someone could wipe off our table or empty the garbage in the play area. The ketchup station is very typically broken or empty and dirty. Today I wasn't sure we should eat there since so little attention was given to the store and customers. It wasn't until we were leaving the store 45-60 minutes later that I finally saw someone clearing off tables. However, the garbage bins were much fuller and spilling out which to me means someone is not instructing staff to maintain a clean environment at regular intervals. My first job 45 years ago was at the McDonald's at 67th and Camelback. My manager literally had the saying " if you have time to lean you have time to clean". Please review your cleaning policies and be sure the employees are doing the job they are being paid to do.The very next time this happens where the store is dirty, condiments not stocked, cashiers not properly filling orders, I will not bring my granddaughter there ever...
Read moreMy First Impression of This McDonald’s (BAD)
After having accidentally ordered and payed for a meal to the wrong location, I called to see if I could have a refund or at least pick it up a later time. I had called immediately after I placed my order to ensure that it hasn’t been made already. The lady said that I could not have a refund, but I could get it later if I wanted since I would’ve paid for it. So, later that day I went out of my way to pick it up after a long day. I was starving, and I was relying on it for dinner. I drove from my house 10 min and 4 miles just for this McDonald’s. When I went to explain the scenario, the night manager Demitra was very inconsiderate.
She refused to honor the previous lady’s words since I didn’t catch the first lady’s known name. What kind of young girl would lie about such a thing at 10 pm with her mother? Also, why would the same young girl create such a complex story just for one meal? Even if I were to be lying, it would not bother Mc Donald’s as a company to lose $5 off of this scenario. It’s literally. McDonald’s, not the Gucci store. It’s neither deep, nor expensive.
She said that it’s against the rules to hand it free food in such a way, but sometimes you have to risk a little to gain a little. She should have reluctantly gave it to me anyways for good customer service reviews and reputations. What does it mean about the McDonald’s on Union Hills to not respect their local customers enough to follow through on their words? What does it show when she and they were unwilling to sacrifice a penny of their sales for their “beloved customers”? Why is it the customer who has to suffer and go home unhappy because this location’s crew does not know how to communicate with each other? Those are the questions that you should be asking yourself.
I would like to restate how one of the managers, a black woman with short hair, is cruel and heartless. She didn’t care how much the order we were dealing with was or how much effort it was to go there, nope, it’s strictly no free food, even in the possibility that the customer is right. If those are the rules, this manager should have bent the rules since she has the authority allow the workers to give me my food. as a good, kind person. and as a good,...
Read moreIt's hit or miss for what quality of food and service you will get here. You can be the only customer inside ordering and it will take awhile to receive your food. It was like that long before online and kioske ordering became the norm. There is a serious disconnect between the ordering and paying, and the receiving. Once in awhile you get staff that work well together and get your order to you swiftly and correctly. I appreciate the expanded breakfast menu but not at the expense of my time. Twice I have gotten the Cinnamon Roll. First time, it was just right. The second time the clerk nuked it to death without even asking me, and it added alot more time to the already long wait. No apologies. No freebie thrown in. Of course the roll was hard and crumbly. A waste of three bucks. It is not their fault that the drive thru is designed as it is. However, several times it is so backed up that it is spilling over into the parking spaces. Also, many of the drive thru patrons have to find a space to park and wait for their order. This necessitates an employee taking their order outside. I thought employees had to wash hands whenever they went behind the counter from outside. I have not seen the hand washing or use of hand sanitizer in these cases. Perhaps that is something to...
