River City Grill — Restaurant in Peoria

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Six Stars. A new entry into the crowded Peoria restaurant arena but WOW! Just off Prospect so be careful or you just might miss it. My brother was visiting from out of town and I'm new to the area so we Googled best burgers in Peoria. Google hit the jackpot this time. I had the double cheeseburger and boy howdy it didn't disappoint! Two HUGE one third pound patties on a big bun. Even cut in halves it's a handful. Cooked and dressed to order and perfection. French fries were delicious and to die for. Large portion (couldn't finish mine) and crispy golden brown. Don't expect "fancy" foo-foo dining as this is a startup on a budget BUT what you came for is total FOOD EXCELLENCE! I put it beside (and above) any place for delicious food. Friendly staff. Order at the counter and your order is brought to your table. I use a wheelchair and was able to enter and exit without incident. When we finished my brother was helping load me in the car when the manager came out reminding us we didn't pay. Embarrassed because he was focused on getting me loaded up he'd completely forgot to go up to the register prior to leaving. Manager was very understanding and we all laughed at my brother's oversight. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. I'll be telling all my friends and will be returning to try more of the wide ranging delicious selections. First time checking out this hole in the wall. Nice looking place and very friendly waitress. Unfortunatley, the food was meh. Everything is cheap quality and straight out of a freezer. The cheese sauce most likely came out of a can, the burger patty was so uniformed like it was made in a hydrolic press, the mac n cheese bites were definitly Great Value brand and worst of all the wings. They were almost as big as my pinky finger with little to no actual meat on the black, freezer-burnt bones. The breading was flavorless and greasy. I’m assuming it’s added to make the wings look bigger beacuse it’s not there for taste. Overall, the atmosphere was nice and the service was fine. The food came out fast and hot. Just ok. We stopped here on the way home after doing the Hot Wheels monster truck event at the Civic Center.

The food is just ok. The four us ordered 2 buffalo chicken sandwiches, a gyro burger, and a breakfast burger and one side of fries to split between all four of us.

The chicken came out lukewarm and the breakfast burger had an under cooked egg on it. Gyro burger was ok but was beyond well done. Everything just had that frozen food vibe to it. Like all the patties were perfectly round type of thing.
