I’ve been wanting to try this place forever and we finally were in the area this weekend so we stopped in. I was so surprised to see it nearly completely empty, but it was around 4 on Sunday. Definitely a weird time for dinner etc. we were greeted right away and waters brought to us while we decided what we’d order. We’d eaten earlier so we opted for some type of appetizer and finally settled on the potstickers. They recently updated their menu a bit we were told so if you’re looking at it online it doesn’t seem to show the new one. The sauce for the stickers was a type of hot sauce and it along with the potstickers were amazing! I’d definitely like to come back and try out more full meals. The food here is described as a mix of Polynesian and Asian cuisines. It’s a scratch kitchen. I really love the concept. For the drinks they serve only cans/bottled beers here as well as mixed drinks. The mixed drinks are what seems to bring people in. I wasn’t sure what to get so I told the bartender what I liked and he recommended the Halo Halo I believe is what it was called. I typically don’t care for ube, but he assured me he’d make it to my liking. He was so correct. It was delicious. I’d definitely order it again. The vibe is cool. Decor is great. The place is quite small though. It does have a small patio area as well, but on a busy night at park-west I could see it hard to get in. I was off put by the restrooms at first because there was no sink inside the bathroom and questioned where a cool would wash their hands, but realized quickly it was right outside of both bathrooms for a more sanitary option. Great idea. A few other bars we go to also do this. All in all I’d come back. This place has nice potential!

It was such a fun place to enjoy some amazing food and awesome drinks! The decor is in point, and it makes you feel like you're in the tropics. Drinks were great! Cute fun glasses they are served in. It brings such a tropical vibe to your table. We started out with Loco Moco Fries! Excellent, you can not go wrong with this dish! Fries, egg, and hamburger with gravy! Way to start off with a bang! I ordered the pineapple burger. 2 juicy patties with grilled pineapple and the tonkatsu sauce really sets it off. This is a must order! He ordered jerk chicken sandwich. For someone who isn't a fan of onions, he sure did enjoy this dish! He said the chicken was juicy and tender, and the pineapple relish really added a nice twist! Our server was Jenelle, shes fun and very informative on items on the menu. 5 stars 🌟 all around. Want a cute little joint to feel like you're on an island, be such to check this place out. Won't be disappointed! Update ... went again to try out more dishes and drinks! Omg, this was even better than the first. The cheese steak, order it! Spam fried rice is also great. Love the special drink specials. Don't skip out!

We had a bit of difficulty finding Tiki Star, and then we had a bit of difficulty finding parking. As we walked up to the restaurant, we weren't sure where the front door was, as there was no signage or anything on or near the door. There's also a splash pad right outside the restaurant, and kids were playing on it, so we almost walked past it. However, a manager saw us and opened the door, waving us over. The atmosphere was different, in a good way. We started with the Kung Pao Cauliflower appetizer, which was incredible (we aren't huge cauliflower fans but really like Kung Pao chicken). The Katsu Sando was cooked perfectly and had some mild but delicious flavor combinations. The Kalua Pork Sliders had awesome flavorful combinations, although they were a bit messy as I ate them. The Samoa Cookie Cheesecake was a delicious ending to the meal. The only miss for us was the Zero Proof Mai Tais, but as we don't drink alcohol and usually go for water or an occasional soda or fruity drink, we can't really speak to how they would taste compared to the real thing. The presentation was fun, though.

Was excited to eat here as we love authentic Hawaiian food, but this ain't it. Menu was overpriced, portions were small. They have kalua pork, but not in its purest form. You want it on nachos, in sliders, on a cuban - you're in luck! You want JUST kalua pork with some rice and mac salad? It'll run you $24 for measly portions and special permission from the manager to do a la cart portions of what should be a normal option on their menu. Mac salad came in a small dipping cup - max 4 bites and it was gone.

Drinks were $$$$. I paid $17 for a small mai tai. The only thing I will give them credit for is that it was strong - almost so strong it was difficult to drink. But for $17, I was going to finish it! Glad I had a DD!

All in all, a lunch for 4 (with one ordering off the kids menu) and a single drink, came to $118. Server was friendly, but absent minded and forgot about us a couple of times. For that kind of money, we'll go elsewhere.

Edit to respond to Owner: I never said the food was bad. I said it was overpriced and small portions. I stand by that. I didn't "make up my own items" using off menu items. I asked for kalua pork, your coconut rice that is served as a side to other entrees and Mac salad (also a side). If you can't stand by the quality of your menu items by offering them without a chip or piece of bread to accompany it, then you need to go back to the basics of building your menu off of foundational flavors that can stand by themselves. $24 for a small scoop of 3 items was overpriced. That was my point and remains to be. With your snarky response to a legit review, there won't be any second...
