The Pop Shop — Local services in Perkins Township

I visited pops shop because they specialize in comics. Last week, I went in to get more information about a first gen comic book hoping to get some answers on potential value and if I should get the book graded. The owner tells me he can only appraise or tell me a accurate price/condition only if they can handle the book and take it out of the protective sleeve. Which I agree too only if the book was not worth much, if however the book was worth hundreds to thousands of dollars just leave it in the protective sleeve to minimize handling and damage. This is common place for having a potentially high value item. So the old guy who is the owner gets frustrated and says he can’t do business with me. As I’m leaving I say I will right a review, I then walk to my car. The owner then storms out of the store. Forces me to role my window down and goes off on me about leaving a review. He said I have no right because I brought the book in which that doesn’t mean your customer service should decline because I might offer you my item. Basically, he came up to my care screaming and yelling and basically wanted to fight me, then backed down and threatened me to never come back and he will call the cops.

I simply just wanted more information on the book bc I am not sure what I have. I wanted to get it graded but this very sour taste in my mouth has made me hold off. I was a frequent shopper at this location and I will never I repeat NEVER go back to this local shop.

I hope the owner reads this a publicly apologizes for his stubborn ways and realizes he was in the wrong for his actions. Very unprofessional. If you comment just say you’ll do better next...

Most products are over priced for something that is used, "Borderlands 2 for example is $20 new and they have it $15 used, why would i buy it for that price when i can just spend $5 more for a new game?"

though there are things cheaply priced, like 50cent comics, that is a great Deal.

But what has me mad about Pops service is i go in to the store and Purchased a Playstation 3 game that was Used. it was $5 and i know used video games are going to have Wear and Tear. That is why they are Used, though They should be playable and still working .

When i got home i tried playing the game i just bought. and it doesn't run at all. I keep my consoles and games in great shape so i know that is not the issue. I checked the back of the Disc and there is 2 long deep scratch marks on the Disc.

When i thought "Ok i'll just return it for another game or just get my money back" i then read on the Receipt that it clearly reads "Store Credit Only on Refunds" this makes me mad as i have no choice but to chance my self with another nonworking game.

I was going to rate Pops 3 Stars, till this incident. Might i suggest testing your products before selling them to people and robbing them of hard...

I visited the Pop! Shop today for my weekly Funko Pop! hunt / haul. During which time, I was able to have an indepth conversation with the owner, an employee and a customer. First off, I'd like to say that I sincerely love this place. My wife and I have been to this store approximately 4 times and we never leave empty handed and always look forward to coming back soon. Their pricing is fair and their Funko Pop! product selection is good. Their customer service is amazing!

I hope to see their Funko Pop! inventory grow so I can spend more money. lol The owner seemed excited to embrace the Funko Pop! community scene. We had discussions of possible Funko Pop! events, celebrity signings and even offering collectors a place to socialize to trade / sell / buy collections.

To date, I've purchased approximately 30 pops from this store and I couldn't be happier with their customer service. I look forward to traveling here more often to "Pop Shop!" and get more acquainted with other Funko Pop enthusiasts.
